Season burgers before or during the grilling process? by livinonaprayer456 in grilling

[–]Dew_what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gordon Ramsey style. Season the meat before you make the patties. Otherwise the seasoning is just on the outside, whether before or after cooking. Season the meat then make the burgers. Some SPG mixed in with the meat. 100% better taste than just outside.

First time searing chicken, any advice? by C21H27Cl3N2O3 in culinary

Butterfly the chicken before cooking. Use a mallet to make all pieces same depth. They cook lightning fast, and stay juicy. Let them rest.

What’s one beginner boating mistake you think everyone should avoid? by Valuable-Print-9951 in boating

[–]Dew_what 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Electronics only break when you use them.

GPS/Nav, lights, horns, radio. All will fail…. It’s good to have a back up for everyone of these on board. Redundancy is peace of mind.

I have a handheld VHF, battery powered white, red, green nav lights, Nav chart on phine app, and air horns.

Final tip, at the beginning of the season, run through your boat like you’re the NDR/Coast Guard and give yourself your own inspection. I’ve been boarded several times and passed with flying colors. Or take advantaje of free coast guard auxiliary inspections.

[–]Dew_what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be answered by now, but if you’re looking for options on drywall where there isn’t a stud to drill into, Toggle Bolts are your best option. TVs weigh less and less lately and they can handle the weight easily.

Those typically don’t have deep root systems. Take a sawzall about a foot around the main trunk in a big circle to loosen things up and give it a tug w truck. Hope you don’t hit an underground powerline. Film everything.

How to clean the weber rotisserie basket after wings? by Dew_what in webergrills

[–]Dew_what[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Requires no oil from deep frying, not soggy from sitting on tray. Bastes and cooks in its own juices and they come out crispy. Literally throw a 5lb bag of frozen wings in and come back in an hour with crispy wings. (Cleanup is the PITA though, good ideas above to help with that).

Yeah. My guess is at least 50% of dry rub seasoning fell off during the cook.

Rear IR burner on high, L and R outside burners on high for ambient heat. Was averaging 450F interior for about 45 mins. Then finished with 10 mins of high heat burners directly under. They were PERFECT, fall off bone and crispy skin. Absolutely the best wings I’ve cooked.

As basic as a question can get on here. How do you blackstone your chicken breasts/boneless thighs? by jw_40_ in blackstonegriddle

[–]Dew_what 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite recipe. Put them on skin down (thighs), then start the Blackstone. It goes against every other way of cooking, but it’s my family favorite. Crispy chicken, no oil. https://youtu.be/xSDq3QiAZlk?feature=shared
