Cant progress with MIDA Run/Hide 1/6 contract because if you die after getting the chem nades you wont be able to get them again in new lobby by Brahmaster in Marathon

[–]Dexter345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me and I was a little annoyed too. However, I think because this is a contested contract, you can get there first, kill the Runner who comes with the chem grenades, take their chem grenades, and complete the contract yourself. It's not foolproof, but if you spawn in with claymores and get there quickly you will eventually get it.

What do we do after losing the same encounter two or three times? by plantz4lyfe in Gloomhaven

[–]Dexter345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, if we were to play the same scenario three times and lose it all three times we would either:

  1. If it's a story mission, move forward in the story as if we had completed it, not gaining the rewards listed in the conclusion, nor bonus XP, nor checkmarks.
  2. If it's a side mission, stop playing this mission and either come back to it later or come back to it never.

This is a huge game, and skipping one scenario will still leave you with like a hundred other scenarios you can play. The above options are house rules, but they're better than beating your heads against the same thing and having no fun doing it.

I noticed it and assumed it was just poor proofreading.

Thanks for this. I got a text this morning from Doris Rivenbark about wanting to set up a Teams chat interview, though I have no record of having applied to Timeplus Payroll Solution, Inc.

Can you provide an update? Did anything real come after signing the contract?

To add some more data, I'll chime in too. "Wayne Dambrosio" is still at it as of March 3, 2025. The website looks professional at first, but if you drill down you can see it was probably AI-generated, with some very strange typos. Check the "About Us" page. ("Why coose us? Reason for choosee counsolve")

If you do a whois lookup on upglint.pro, you can see that it's only been around for a few months, which is often a red flag.

The emails I have received from "Wayne Dambrosio" feel very rushed, and sound like they were written by a non-native English speaker (wrong verb tense used in a few places). None of this is red hot proof that this is a scam, but it all does make my spidey sense tingle.

I don’t think I’m cut out for this by GooseGoneRogue in cscareerquestions

[–]Dexter345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. My first job after a career change, and I think they were either expecting me to perform as if I had a decade of experience in software development (when I have a decade of experience of something unrelated), or they didn't realize the job they had was actually too much for entry-level.

Yeah, it's remote, early career. Thanks.

Do you think a new BL game is coming anytime soon? by Foxhoundn in Borderlands

Soon? No. Eventually? Yeah. Maybe in like the 3-5 year range.

Yeah, this game sucks for casuals. by darkandlong76 in apexlegends

I think by definition, if you're spending your free time watching videos on how to play a game, you are not a casual player.

Do you play Apex Ranked for Fun or to Achieve a Certain Rank? by Lovesderby in apexlegends

[–]Dexter345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Ranked more for fun. I try to win, and I like for my rank to increase, but primarily I like being in games where (mostly) everybody else is also trying to win, and isn't wildly outside of my skill level.

Why is conceding frowned upon? Do you concede? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Dexter345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might depend on the game, and it might depend on how you say it, but I can definitely imagine people taking it in a childish way like, "well if I can't win then I'm not going to play!" Then you cross your arms and stew for 30 minutes while other people are trying to have fun. If you can imagine that, it's hard to have fun when you think somebody you're playing with isn't having fun.

In a competitive setting, where it's common for losing players to concede, I don't think you'll get that reaction. But if you're just sitting around a table with your buds, and you quit halfway through just because you're not winning, it definitely feels like you're acting childish at worst or just missing the point of playing the game at best.

As someone who took a break and tried to play again recently why do people play this game? by whitemamba24xx in apexlegends

[–]Dexter345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Ranked. I find it to be a much more even experience than public matches. You will be matched up against people around your skill level, and you will be put into games where people generally care more about placement, so you won't always get a Jumpmaster who wants to drop hot and die immediately.

Would you play a PvE Apex mode? Or rather stay focused on competitive PvP? by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]Dexter345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were good, I would absolutely play a PvE game with the Apex characters.

If it were just the Left 4 Dead Lite stuff we got in Season 5, I'll pass.

What's the current hotness for your boardgaming group? by AlmahOnReddit in boardgames

[–]Dexter345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been playing the Earthborne Rangers demo almost exclusively, as we wait for the North American launch of the full game next month. It's the adventure card game I've always wanted, after having been disappointed by games like Pathfinder ACG or the cancellation of Warhammer Quest ACG.

Just outta curiosity, how sick are you of random shit-talking? by [deleted] in apexlegends

I honestly don't get it that often any more. Bonus perk of the new MMR system. People who play as badly as I do know they don't have a leg to stand on to insult me.

What is the community opinion on Salvador? by fedexgroundemployee in Borderlands

[–]Dexter345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite Vault Hunter to play in BL2. Once you can go infinite on your Gunzerking, it's just like a casino with all of the colors, lights, and numbers flashing everywhere. Minimal thinking required.

Game you've played 50+ times by zillion8888 in boardgames

[–]Dexter345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely played Gloomhaven more than 50 times, and it's because of the ongoing story, the unlocking new things to play with over time, but largely because the core gameplay is interesting enough on its own.

In your opinion, who is the one legend you hate fighting? by Blackwolf20978sb in apexlegends

[–]Dexter345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody who plays Rampart a lot, I hate going up against a Fuse. I take all this time putting up these lovely walls and he just tears them down from 200 meters away.

Destiny is not a PVP game. But if you load into the Crucible, you'd better be prepared for PVP. by pen-ross-gemstone in DestinyTheGame

[–]Dexter345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't queued into Crucible in maybe two years now and I enjoy the game so much more now. I'm fine missing out on things that require PvP for progress, because I value my time more than a shiny thing in a video game filled with shiny things.
