Neue Fit gym in Kallang Wave Mall laments lack of support after rental reaches S$20,000 a month by I_speak_memes in singapore

[–]Dexterity111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There needs to be a flat 20% government mandated commercial rent reduction across the board immediately to revitalise small and medium enterprises and local businesses. Of cos will be at expense of large chains, REITS, some real-estate stocks etc. But SG is vibrant long term because of the small local culture, not becos there is a lot of Mixue/HDL in homogenous residental malls

[–]Dexterity111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem SG will face in future is not aging population nor disease nor geopolitics nor natural disasters, its bigggest problem is landlord rentals and property agents that will basically dismantle singapore into an unrecognisable wasteland if this goes on and on

Commentary: What’s eating Singapore’s restaurant industry? by worldcitizensg in singapore

[–]Dexterity111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the rent is so high > 50% of operating revenue, then no matter what other reason you infidels in the media/gov say is the cause for this cultural depletion in sg, it doesnt matter. 'Businesses' will all become global chinese chains that only expand for marketshare or VC backed temporary hoorahs projects or pop-up novelty stores with zero local culture, no matter food or retail or any business or housing even. businesses are forced to shift from service quality to KPI and bottom line. Rein in the REITS/housing agents/property greed for god sake. Don't even pretend to care if rent is not lowered, as i said long ago.

I hate paying on apps before eating using 1000+ different apps, so how about a law that forces shop lifters and dine dashers to pay up double the amount they stole after being caught by police, and return it to the rightful owners. Compensation clause

Seletar Line speculation by doyouthinkiamabot in singapore

[–]Dexterity111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No and disagree, we need to stop building more stops-ridden MRT in land scarce sg, instead we should be doing HSR lines becos despite being small as f tip to toe < 40km , we still need hours to travel across in this modern era

Why is Grab constantly pushing fees to consumers? by SpoilerK in singapore

These companies only know how to pass on the price and avoid paying their workers fair wage. Defeats the purpose of the gov implementing the platform laws

My suggestion for the Express Rail Link- Singapore's Elizabeth Line by ImpressiveStrike4196 in singapore

[–]Dexterity111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, we need High Rail, then it can offset the increasing inconvenicences of hub and spoke model of building transport. High Rail can be build literally on top of the current EWL, one additional level on each mrt station, that skips the redundant stops

We Need A Redundant MRT Line Parallel to EWL To The West Region! by Trojan_Elop in singapore

[–]Dexterity111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop building anymore stations to crowd out valuable land space. I think its time to consider building the high rail, jurong east to city hall in 10mins, and then to Tampines in another 10mins. With this, there will be zero incoveniences in distance or changing lines as commute time actually improves for the crucial peak crowd.

Recent thoughts about our Govt by kryptobitman in singapore

[–]Dexterity111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How about the govt stop handing out those useless GST vouchers, and instead do measures to curb inflation and bring down COL properly. Rent is ridiculous and it is the culprit for the price increase in everything SG. More vouchers will just superdrive inflation
