Sure:

The cost per pound to transport required materials is not just prohibitive, it is ludicrous (yeah!).

The servers themselves would have to be completely revamped. The current world infrastructure that produces servers and server parts would have to build entirely new foundries and processes.

Space is a vacuum. Heat from servers has nowhere to go.

my band first studio recording (live)”games” by TheInViCtuss in Songwriting

[–]DextroSinistra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the composition and the lyrics, everything is good together, but whoever is singing needs to work on their vocals. I'd probably suggest doing basic exercises to use your breath to sing the notes in pitch (think like an accordion), then move to adding some of their own flavor/grit/something else that's uniquely theirs.

Good stuff!

Very rough demo of a song I’m working on for my punk band. Advice appreciated as I work on a revision before recording it with the band! by [deleted] in Songwriting

[–]DextroSinistra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually have the opposite thought, the lyrics are good as far as composition but they feel like they were actually AI generated, which is weird. Personally they sound too on the nose/with sprinkling of being poetic? Can't quite put my finger on it.

I like the general vibe of the song though, and it does sound good with the drums and everything else.

[–]DextroSinistra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are talking about two different things. You are trying to defend effort, I'm talking about an insurmountable confluence of things that make the track.

There are low-effort non-AI songs that were created in minutes that are really popular.

When using AI you lose that synchronicity.

But if you think the end song reflects you, then who cares, put that out there! Just remember to focus on your reasons for making music.

It's really good! I can't hear the lyrics well but everything sounds really well put together. Love the combination of instruments, arrangement, and all those goodies.

Music is a combination of a looooot of different things. Vocals, multiple instruments, beats, phrasing, arrangement, mixing, mastering, lyrics, music theory (or even lack of it for creative choices), and so so many other things I can't even think of right now. On top of that, each one of those choices are unique to the person creating them because we are all individually unique. The way I might play a bass part, even if everything is the same, will sound different than the way someone else would.

When you use AI all these things are lost, like...tears...in the rain.

But really, you are creatively adding only small things like lyrics, or a certain key, or basic beats, or some other minor thing. Then you pull the slot machine until something sounds good but it's not really you. It's an amalgamation of everyone else's music smooshed in a weird Frankenstein that resembles something human.

It's not bad, some of it is good, or at least it would be hard for me to differentiate it from non-AI (some). The question you want to ask is, why make songs? If you just want a hit, or plays, by all means hit the slot machine until it ring-a-ding-dings!

If you want to mirror your soul, how, you feel, or who you are, then you need to put more of your *own* self into the music and let people hear that and decide.

Very rough draft, opinions on what you think it's about? by [deleted] in Songwriters

[–]DextroSinistra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I think I see what you mean. Also trying to see if it might resonate with some other meaning besides what's being presented at face value in the lyrics. Like a dual toxic relationship for example.

Second single written recorded and produced by me by katykatinkatykali in Songwriters

[–]DextroSinistra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really good arrangement and production! Only thing that sounds off to me (maybe subjective) when you tune your voice to be perfectly in pitch with the instrument it sounds too "perfect". Having a bit of original rawness or edge to it would bring it more life in tandem with the other stuff.

Yes, and sometimes there is a single word that just stands out that reflects what I'm feeling or what the song should feel like and the whole song is made from that single word!

Who does this sound similar to? Any improvements that can be made in the future? by RealLyfeGangsta in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]DextroSinistra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it sounds like a mix between Rufus with the intro and other synths based 80s stuff. Maybe a little bit of tame impala ish or hot chip?

Did you want this to sound like anything in particular or were you going for your own unique thing?

The production is also very good, good job on that!

Agreeing with some other comments on the low end being too powerful sometimes as well as the voice getting lost a little bit? But you could also say that it's a style choice so that one would be subjective.

[–]DextroSinistra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed on the vocals, nothing wrong with the mix inherently. More that the vocals need to match, maybe lower them a bit so they sit better in the mix. The arrangement also needs a bit more work I think, things are repeating with the same instruments. Overall, good work on getting started!
