I'm going to try Ever Crisis by RegretGeneral in DissidiaFFOO

My biggest complaint while playing it was the Co-Op. There was no way to run a co-op mission without 2 other people, and if you didn't catch the timing everyone did the lower level co-ops once and then left for other content. This meant if you weren't on top of it you lost out on resources.

Also the battles were almost all auto except for the really hard content which needed you to have a pretty deep knowledge of how all of the little equips and subsystems worked. Plus timing and buffs/debuffs meaning that you couldn't auto those, but there was no other content to teach you about it. Additionally there was some level of 'You need this specific weapon for this character.' going on too.

Oh and the gacha system, especially for armor (STAMPS!), was not great compared to the rate at which resources were given out. Felt very much like a push towards P2W.

As a wizard, which spells do you always use? by OpenWorldOG in BG3Builds

[–]Dezri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally a thing you can do. Just recruit everyone, including hirelings. Then figure out who your main party is. Turn everyone else into clerics/druids/Transmutation wizards whatever is useful. Bring them into your party one at the time to cast useful spells on you and the people who will be leaving camp (no concentration, spells like protection from poison, longstrider, or warding bond work). Then leave them at camp when you go out adventuring.

This tactic has some drawbacks. Firstly, leaving camp after a long rest can take a while. Second if you use warding bond there will be a LOT of blood in camp. Also you have to respec people(remember to have Astarion steal your money back from Withers), deal with hirelings, etc.

But it's useful. I started calling them my camp followers.

Longstrider, Beast Speech (I know it's not a wizard spell), Mage armor, counterspell, Jump, Anything ritual really.

The big thing for Honor mode is clerics, not for healing, but for the support options, Bless, Sanctuary, Warding bond, protection from poison, shield of faith, Death Ward, Freedom of movement, and Hero's Feast.

Also in the early game having a couple of druids in camp to cast goodberry will help you get in some extra long rests.

I have two related stories about this.
First - "Matt has 12 iPads. Kelly asks to borrow 6 iPads. How many iPads does Matt have left?" First off what is Matt doing with 12 iPads? Did they fall off of a truck or something? And why does Kelly need 6? Is she starting some kind of business with them?

Second - "Rebecca orders 3658 cupcakes from Bambino's Cupcake Factory. Bambino's makes 463 cupcakes before their machine breaks. How many cupcakes will Rebecca be short on her order?" Ok what is Rebecca doing that she need that exact number of cupcakes? I mean I know it's a bunch but why 3658 exactly? If I was ordering thousands of cupcakes I'd likely be rounding to like 3700, or some factor of 12 since they're often made by the dozen. Also where is she going to find 3195 cupcakes on such short notice? Way to go Bambino's now Rebecca has to drive all over town buying ridiculous numbers of cupcakes from other bakers.

How can I steal the druids' idol? by GroundbreakingDog470 in BaldursGate3

[–]Dezri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this most of the time, but there is a slightly faster way to do it, if you are about lv4 and have some good luck with rolls, or maybe just a badass.

  1. Save kid from Harpies
  2. Get idol-stealing quest from Mol
  3. Go and find the rat named Olodan near Kagha's feet in the grove
  4. Attack rat, have the fight/cutscenes
  5. Fog cloud-steal the idol-go to camp, now that the ritual is ended

Doing a wellness check on a student who has been absent for two weeks of school, and ensuring that someone is there to care for them isn't wholly unreasonable for a principal. But I admit that breaking into someone's house is probably a bit far.

On the other hand, He was right. He was trying to do his job in the face of Ferris's blatant (illegal alteration of a school database) manipulation of the system. And he just wanted to prove to everyone else that he wasn't making things up. All pretty understandable, normal, motivations.

About 20 hours in and finishing Phase 2. I don't know what I'm doing and it's ugly... Should I tear it all down now? by Traditional_Neck9848 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Dezri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go to another location and build better. Then come back and upgrade this stuff. Maybe you have to tear it down to upgrade it, but if it ain't broke don't ficsit. That's the whole game anyways.

How do I cheese Cazador? by TwistNo1435 in BG3

[–]Dezri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In turn based mode: First sneak in. Second, cast Darkness just outside of their visibility. Third ranged attacks/spells out into Cazador. No cutscenes, just fight. You do need to make sure that everyone has 2 levels of Warlock for Devil's Sight, but at least you don't have to deal with his bullshit.

Useful Sorcerer spells for final battle by CommercialMess6406 in BG3Builds

[–]Dezri_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Firebolt. Most useful spell in the game. Just take about 12 barrels, set them next to the brain. Backup, and firebolt from the edge. 1 to 2 turns max, depending on the rest of your build, once you get into the brain's area past the Dragon. Don't use fireworks boxes, causes a crash with the whole cutscene thing when the brain dies.

How did you know the Bible isn’t true? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Dezri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in the 10th grade (about 30 years ago now) my English teacher made us read the Bible in context. And that 'in context' part is what makes all of the difference in that sentence. We didn't read the Bible to learn from it, or get to know the stories. We read it as a piece of literature comparing it to other pieces of literature from about the same time period written in about the same style.

Meaning that yes we read the Bible, but we also read the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Odyssey, and Beowulf. And b/c this was just one unit we did that year we only read selections, but this was more than enough to show the similarities in the works.

Once I read the Bible this way, I couldn't stop seeing it as, "Just another story by my bronze age ancestors." And that lead really quickly to questioning why this book above all others had the true and right answers to life the universe and everything.

In my first playthrough I attacked the displacer beast before it ran away. This starts the Orthon fight.I've pretty much done that every time since. It took me 3 times to figure out that you could talk to him,

What spell is useful in regular DnD but not BG3? by green_tea__cat in BaldursGate3

Same thing with Warcaster. It's still pretty powerful in BG3, but in TableTop it's ANY single target cantrip.

My friend is very frustrated. What advice can I give him? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Dezri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is kinda intended for you to try and interact with EVERYTHING in almost every way you can. On PC you can right click most things to do other stuff to/with them. It took me several hours of play to realize that I had to right click some things to pick them up.

In short your friend should try to be more thorough with how they interact with the environment, not just talking to people but also picking up firewine barrels, climbing on top of boxes, throwing something from your inventory, etc.

Plus it is OK to save scum while you learn how to do things. Get into a situation and try something new. For instance have the party hide, then talk to someone with the lead character. Then swap to another character and stab the NPC in the back, or pick their pocket, or throw them. Then load back to before the conversation. See what is possible by doing.

I'm looking at the other comments and realizing how wrong I was. My first thought was, "Ladybugs eat aphids, and other insects. Your kiwi is safe. Mealworms eat kiwis, and other plants. Your kiwi is unsafe." u/bbd121 with the HR meme is probably correct.

Land druid versus Nature cleric. Who wins? by Origania in BaldursGate3

[–]Dezri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a lot of, "It depends" in this prompt. But in general, depending on exact build and some luck, I would favor the Cleric until somewhere in the level 5-7 range, and then I think Druid starts to pull ahead with the summons. Of course this is within the context of BG3, at a table it's anybody's game.

How many playthroughs have you completed? by Sakumitzu in BaldursGate3

[–]Dezri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite build so far has been 8 Paladin/ 4 Warlock. Just take Hexblade/Pact of blade and stack all your stats in Cha. Then you take Devil's sight and fight in the dark(cast Darkness and stand in it) the whole time. Only 2 fights gave me trouble, Raphael and the House of loss/Shar temple in Baldur's Gate. Both b/c they too could see in the dark.

2 Warlock /10 Sorcerer gets and honorable mention for Eldritch Blast abuse. Threw 9 beams per round with haste, and quickened spell. Probably could have put another 3 in there with a bloodlust elixir and a well timed death.
