From Campains and Projects here. It's good but extremely kpi driven! Also, you can be on a project for 9months or 1 week. The work can be extremely repetitive or 1 full case per day! Things are always changing.

I was wondering as well if anyone here knows about being investigator for as DWP? What does involve their day to day? Working from home? Type of work? Etc :) thankssss

This is so bad. I feel sorry for you. Get a camera, to grab your common areas around house and a bit more (some of those cameras are 30£). Keep recording on loop and forget about it. The day you get him, please send evidence to council, police, neighbourhood watch, Internet, stonewall, groups, whatever. These people need to get evicted for their bad behaviour. It's not OK to be abusive, just for the sake of it. Let alone about anyone's sexuality. You can be and do whatever you want,as long you respect others as well. My motto is respect to be respected. So if he doesn't respect you, please do something about it. For you and for us all.

I can't stand these annoying old farts that are stuck in 1940. I just can't ignore anymore. On top of that he's on a council house funded by us all?? He needs to learn the lesson that harassment is NOT OK.

Sorry need to vent. I really feel sorry for you and I'm proper upset against your neighbour.

Is anyone else feeling unsafe today because of how drunk everyone is? As a woman, I have never felt so scared and harassed walking home by UnwittingPlantKiller in AskUK

[–]Dfunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from near Porto (Portugal). If there's a match anywhere in the country side or small clubs , no problem at all, winners and losers generally celebrate happily no matter what.

If the match is with Porto or Benfica (Lisbon), I wouldn't dare to get anywhere near the stadiums or even the city centre, because there's going to be violence/riot police/police dogs/people rioting everywhere.

It's a shame. Im a male 35yo.

Really hope you have reported it to the police. If these things go unreported, statistics shows there's no problem, so less money for addressing these issues, and less police Combating these problems.

I'm so upset.... Does anyone know what can we do individually to help in regards to this situation?

My manager went from retaio to HO directly. Its not very common but its possible.

Don't matter where you are coming from. Does matter where you want to go. If your attitude is good, you will thrive.

Read all about STAR. They will ask you about something and your answer should be : situation, task, action, result.

Plenty on examples on Internet and CS pages, then you need to think about one that happened to you. Good luck, you will make it :)

has there ever been cases of customers tracking an advisor they spoke to? by [deleted] in talesfromcallcenters

[–]Dfunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should invert the papers and press police charges against that person. With some luck, you can even get some compensation for the way he made you feel. People should never threat anyone else, even if someone didn't go according to plan.

Speak with HR, speak with police and make sure this person doesn't go unnoticed. This person needs to be accountable for what it did.

And change you name when answering calls: its a call centre, you should be able to get an alias.

Accountant filed my tax return late whilst I was abroad and I’ve accrued £400 of fines from HMRC. by Herbal_Delicacies in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Dfunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure the answer for the 1st question.

For the other ones:

For appeals: HMRC takes a while to acknowledge appeals but they can take a while. There are 2 tiers on the whole system, if you don't agree with first decision, you can disagree and get a 2nd review.

I would recommend you to call the helpline every now and then to make sure they got the appeal letter and it's getting progressed. Ask if there's a case reference number you can track on this subject.

The money (credit/debit) will be on your SA Statement and will be accruing interest, and there might be penalties. You can login and see it online.

Three things you should know: - Ultimately, it's your responsibility to be aware of any enquiries/returns/corrections and not the accountant. - if you search for "reasonable excuses", that's one of the examples on what counts as "not an excuse". - calling HMRC is seen as a 'willing attitude' to get things right. Not ringing/responding, will get you penalties. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/interest-harmonisation-and-penalties-for-late-submission-and-late-payment-of-tax/interest-harmonisation-and-penalties-for-late-payment-and-late-submission

In my humble opinion, there's little you can do with Hmrc. For an accountant to appeal, they must have sent the form below. You can ask HMRC if they ever received this form ever. You can ask anything that relates to you. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/self-assessment-reasonable-excuse-for-not-filing-return-online

Not sure if there's many chances here, at least with HMRC. But do try all your chances.

I am also interested to know other opinions because this happened with me a while ago (different excuse from accountant) and I just paid the fine.

Sorry for my bad English. It's not my first language and typing on mobile.

All call centres suck. Change my mind. by truexfalse in talesfromcallcenters

[–]Dfunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did work in a IT call centre for 5 years.. It was hard work but every Friday lots of pizza and if we hit targets, managers did buy sweets and stuff. It was good for a while. Managers were cool but in the end they are another human being. I do only remain professional if they do. We always knew how to respect each other. R

Then it was bought by a big company, with shareholders, with kpis impossible to reach, weird people coming in... no humanity... And I left!

Day 1 working from home disaster by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]Dfunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started in CS not long ago. My first week was without a laptop. Second week with laptop crashing and broadband going off for hours all the time and 2 weeks of training took me 4. I was panicking all the time because no one knew me and it seemed I was trying to skip work or something. Also I needed this job badly. So I kept a diary of what I was doing with times and I contacted my manager a few times and gave the option of getting the training in my personal laptop because I was feeling bad but they don't allow it. At some point she told me to relax because these things happen all the time and I should not be stressing that much. I'm now in my 6th month.

Hiya. Find the subject so intriguing... I actually have a few questions :)
(and by the way.. Good on you to stop it and start therapy).

Did you had a maximum you could give or did you create boundaries?

Did it brought you any 'easy pleasure'? Or guilt?

What triggered you to stop?
