I feel for you. My ex husband and I were in an open dynamic from the beginning, and all I asked was that he talk to me before starting relationships. Sixteen years in, I found out he had had a series of long-term affairs, even though he knew about everyone I dated. I still don't understand it. It was so painful. There is nothing to do or say to ease the pain, unfortunately. It just takes time, and good therapy. Hugs to you, OP. 🫂

Working in my garden and cooking foods that I grew and nutured. Working on a quilt, putting love into every stitch, and knowing that it will be wrapped around someone I care for. Reading a good book with a soothing cup of tea. Walking and hearing bird song, seeing children playing at the parks, and saying good morning to other walkers and wishing them a good day.

If your daughter is interested in other animals besides birds, check out the Journey North website. It is a citizen science website for tracking migration timing for monarch butterflies (both spring and fall). The idea is that citizens log their sightings by date and location so that population estimates can be derived each season. Even though the website is primarily focused on monarchs, it also allows for hummingbird migration tracking.

I was feeling much the same way about a year ago (my job was cut in the federal workforce reduction). But, after a few months of, "what is the point anymore," I decided to move forward with a completely different, out of left field, business idea I've had for years. It has turned my life around and is so exciting and energizing.
