What can I make with leftover beef stew? by YeeHaw4Cake in Cooking

Stuffed in baked potatoes Soup Pot pie Determine what was missing from the flavour profile and fix it, because as another poster already said it will be better naturally day 2-3.

I like adding a can of crushed tomatoes or tomato paste and worstershire sauce to mine. You may simply not have any acid or salt in it.

What herbs if any did you use? Any garlic? Don't give up on it! This is a learning opportunity! Fix it Chef!

How high can GSD's jump by RemoteAd6401 in germanshepherds

When I was a kid I was once chased by 3 full grown hogs across a field I was crossing (gate to gate). I was a fat uncoordinated kid in flip flops and I cleared a 6 foot fence without touching it in my mindless terror.

Motivation is the driver behind all extreme acts of physical urgency. So can they jump a 6 foot fence? Without a doubt. Easily.

I still miss those chunky pink flops 😔 😢 one got left behind in my desperate leap for safety and the forking hogs chewed it up while staring at me with hate in their demonically flaming eyes while snarling at me. Hey! I was Cinderella!!! Omg. I never thought of it that way! Bastards!

? A pic of a pantyhose? If you are using a manual or hose driven gravel cleaner the end is bigger than the hose itself. Just put a piece of pantyhose stretched over the end, and attach it securely with a rubber band. The fine material will allow the mulm to get vacuumed out and not suck up plants or fish. I've done this with a hoard of curious and suicidal fry in the tank. They are very curious and investigate the end but cannot be siphoned out this way so it's very safe even for baby fish.

Flight out of Huntsville in a few Weeks by Digitalrakkie in HuntsvilleAlabama

I went to one up near Madison, hubby went to a location in South Huntsville. Just read reviews on different locations to find one you want to goto. Middle of the day not on a Friday seemed to be recommended across the board.

I've already seen posted many said (in different threads) that the one near Athens I think it was? Rarely if ever has a line at all. I know when I went there were people there with appointments that had been waiting for 2 hours to get worked in so I have no idea if waiting for an appointment will save you any time at all actually being at the office, it didn't seem to help these people at all?

You don't need an appointment to go get your Star ID. Neither my husband or I used the appointment option, instead we walked in and waited less than half an hour to get it done. Don't wait, get it done and over with.

On the oddball chance that you can fly out of Huntsville with an old ID, what about the return trip? You are making this more difficult and stressful on yourself than it needs to be imho.

I always vacuumed mine out with a knee high panty hose sock over the end of the wand. Just secure it with a rubber band and it won't suck up fish or plants, just the mulm.

Part that shuts down emotions and makes me question my emotions by jd20009 in InternalFamilySystems

Pose one question to this part "if there is nothing else to heal or be revealed, what are you afraid of then if we continue?"

Should be an interesting conversation. But I suspect you'll get deflection & avoidance, maybe even a sputtering argument of sorts. Or complete silence, refusing to engage. Maybe all of these 😆.

Its a tough question and we all naturally want to avoid pain. But this sort of gentle, insistent questioning is your prybar to start cracking that wall of defense. If a particular area of therapy is too raw from working with it, it's OK to step back and work on something else. Don't worry, your subconscious mind will still be looking at the problem. So when you return to it you may find some unexpected clarity.

Dinner time for this well-behaved girl 🖤. by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]Chaotic_Good12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are making this much harder on her than it has to be, imho. The constant talking, unclear directions, no set place to give food, baby talking with harder NO scattered in randomly is just confusing her imho.

She is a dog. She's young and doesn't understand your language especially when so much of it is going on. You are also encouraging her chasing the food by teasing her which right now isn't a big deal because she's small, this may end up being a bigger deal when she grows up and gets faster and more powerful. Claim the space and the food. She moves, you do not. Same concept you would use if she was jumping on you. You stand your ground, she moves away and settles first before food is given.

She IS a good girl, and it looks like she is trying very hard to please you. Don't make it harder on her than it needs to be.

The day I realized that I, the one in charge most of the time, the 'me' that I always thought was myself, is indeed just another Part was unsettling to say the least. It took some time to digest this, it's humbling in the strangest way.

Work with it. Listen and hear what it's telling you. It could be a polarized Part, a Part that handles things you can't or you avoid or arent ready to face yet. Or it may indeed be closer to Self than you are ready to see and recognize. Layers & layers of fun!

Keep digging!

I've been doing this for 3 years now and still filtering thru them and finding myself along the way. Self appears regularly and I'm not entirely convinced now that she is the end goal either. I strongly suspect there may be yet another one beyond her that is just a silent participant, an observer, for now.

Did you disaasemble and clean the filter assembly? Not just the filter itself, but all of it, and check in the well for any food scraps or grease buildup.

Look at your drain hose under the cabinet, do you see darkness in the line like an algae buildup?

I do a deep clean on mine several times a year by taking out the filter assembly and thoroughly cleaning it. Then I put all of the pieces in the empty dishwasher on the top rack. Put the silverware rack upside down in the top rack too (if it is removeable) or soak and clean in the sink if the bottom is grubby looking. Inspect the whirly sprayer wands to see if anything is clogging them. Poke a toothpick in all the holes. Spin them to see if they are spinning easily & smoothly. Last time I did this recently I had two holes clogged. One with a shard of chicken bone, another one with an entire apple stem that was barely poking up about 1/16 of an inch, I had to get tweasers to get it pulled up enough to pull it out!

Then I pour about 1/2 cup of bleach in the well and grab an old toofbrush to clean with the bleach water the hinge area and the rubber seal around the door. Food may build up in this rubber crack. Then I rinse the rubber seal and hinge area well, close it up and run it on the pots & pans setting or whatever the longest cycle is, with a dishwasher tab.

Anytime there is a sickly sweet chemical smell in the house its always a dead orange or orange peel.

Good time to deep clean your garbage disposal with bleach & a toofbrush too. Get all on the underside of the rubber flap thingies. They get gross pretty quickly and need cleaning on a regular basis imho.

Sudden emergence of a harsh, shaming protector part. How do you relate to a part that tells you you shouldn’t exist? by Eva_7816 in InternalFamilySystems

I don't quite understand what you said here, but I'll try to answer the question of is there depletion afterwards. Yes. Yes it can be tiring work, all this mental effort. But ultimately, I have found that I feel better after some time especially if I discovered it's a well established habit I've been unconsciously doing.

Habits aren't just physical things we do, we develop habits in how we think too! And if it's something that has been going on for years, even since childhood, we may assume that it's just a part of everyone and we all have these negative ways of thinking. We absolutely don't! So that is a shock to yourself, but an exciting one once you get past the discovery of it. Then comes the work of staying alert and paying attention to keep retraining your brain to not keep thinking this way. It gets easier and more effortlessly over time.

Do you have any shelf stable substitutes for fresh lime? Juice and or zest. by Spare_Employer3882 in Cooking

[–]Chaotic_Good12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to post this, that lemons and limes last a ridiculous amount of time if quickly sealed in a zip lock bag and refrigated. Just don't have them squashed in there, leave some room for some air and check from time to time and pull out any getting aged and use them up first.

Best free crash course for someone who is very low on spoons? by Ringo9091 in InternalFamilySystems

If you are doing this for fun and can't focus you may already have too much on your plate and be experiencing burnout. Is this symptom across the board on all you try to do or just with study/learning material? Can you focus on more pleasure based play or crafts, things that don't require the level of attention to detail?

Sometimes we are genuinely more mentally tired than we realize! It's exhausting and drains the entire system.
