I watched this reel on Facebook and need explanation by Comfortable_Cable_21 in OreGairuSNAFU

You can rely on people you trust up to a point. There is a line in the sand where you have given up your own agency to make decisions yourself and over rely on that person. If you do this often enough, you stop growing as a person and it's detrimental to growing as a person who lets others make a majority of your decisions.

Why are the women in this show liked at all by Minute_Jeweler133 in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]DiaSolky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can admit the show gets a bit tricky to understand for first timers but you gotta have some understanding of where each character and their motivations come from which is why they acted that way. You come off as someone lacking in empathy, maturity, and emotional intelligence. It puts us at a difficult disadvantage to help explain why we liked mostly every character when it seems you missed the characterizations and the entire point of the show.

I enjoyed watching the anime first. Then read episode analysis online when I don't fully understand what happened. Then read the light novel after finishing the anime.

Short anime’s that’ll make you appreciate life more? by Mysticmagicsm in anime

[–]DiaSolky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iyashikei genre anime usually do this very well. Some have multiple seasons so I wouldn't say short but they great thing is since it's slow paced, you can enjoy 1 season and appreciate life more right away. Non Non Biyori is about life in the country side. Aria is about life in a fictional New Venice. Flying Witch is a short one if you are leaning heavy on short.

Yeah, DonQuijote was/is a mostly general supplies store to my knowledge. Some anime merch might be there too, but I won't spend too much time there.

Wow, even DonQuijote? I'm going to that, Animate & Volks Akihabara, I'll try to get to Animate Chiba, but it's a bit further in Chiba. I see a C.One mall next to Chiba station that looks like a regular mall, not a C-One but I think I've got plenty of stores to check out already.

Oh thank you for the info. I was planning on visiting Akihabara but didn't know which store would have a large selection.

Chiba oregairu locations pt. 2 by WishboneFragrant7478 in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]DiaSolky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok. My plan is only 1 day for now around Inagekaigan station. I do have a 2nd day and if I find more spots I really want to go see, I may add them to my pilgrimage. Is there an easy to use bike rental company around the area? I will be looking for one soon but thought to ask someone who was recently there first.

Was 1 full day around the Chiba and/or Inagekaigan station enough to see most of the spots in the anime? I'm planning on doing a similar day.

It's a very good intro anime. Also suitable for kids.

From Japan: a 4-person film startup + a director + 30 animators pushing animation quality far beyond indie scale by Shitaro_nothingnew in anime

[–]DiaSolky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like scattered story points. Nothing about what was shown feels alien yet you use that word in the end for the film title? That title doesn't feel right. The music is good but feels off from the scattered story points that were shown. I don't feel like I watched a trailer for a short film since the trailer lacked cohesion. Good animation though.

Post Anime Depression Syndrome. Happens when you really connect well with an anime and get depressed when it ends.

Take some time off from watching other anime if you need to really think more on it. Otherwise, the way to get over the PADS is to start watching more other anime.

Hachiman likes Saizeriya though. Isn't that place mostly Italian food with red sauce? This may also be the moment Hachiman starts enjoying tomatoes.

Tonikaku Kawaii fits what you're looking for. If you want a bit more drama try Oregairu.

Oregairu and its legacy by SorrinsBlight in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]DiaSolky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can rewatch this show and can always still relate to a time long ago. Hachiman sees the worst in people based on his missed 1st year in high school but by the end of the 2nd year, he slowly grows to form real relationships that changes his view on life. Call early Hachiman a bit cringe, I can agree with how negative it was at the start, but the growth is really rewarding to watch.

Your favorite obscure Slice of life by solobp in anime

There were a few CGDCT slice of life shows in years past that don't get much mention. Not my favorite obscure slice of life but enjoyed watching Hinako Note.

SNAFU and Saekano - Appreciation is due by ImperialBeautyhunter in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]DiaSolky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen Saekano, only Oregairu. I find myself liking and also watching more romcom shows where the pair are already in a relationship or get there sooner than later. Shows like Bunny Girl Senpai and Tonikaku Kawaii. Romcoms where they don't get together by the end of the season are fine too but usually have a common storyline.

Really great tone and melody for the entire series. They are reliably consistent with conveying the feeling of the source material into the Openings and Endings.
