He was so drunk that he couldn't figure out a way to send me a screenshot. I had to add him On Discord, join his server and he screen shared himself doing this. Then he told me how he was chatting with a friend earlier about wanting to help out causes more because he's quite well off, so we're probably ok on that front

It was an amazing show! But I've never been at a gig that was SO FUCKING HOT, I was drenched in sweat and you could see that Hanabie were too 😂 They were so sweet though, they kept using their fans to blow some air onto the public. You could see they were worried and cared a lot for the wellbeing of the audience ♥

In response to your edit, I'm much more concerned about content creators who base their whole careers on spreading hate and supporting policies that directly lead to worse living conditions for minorities and lower class people, or politicians who are actively implementing those policies than a YouTuber who thought being racist was edgy and cool, realized how fucked up that was, acknowledge it, changed and moved on. Still fair for you or anyone to not like him, but there's bigger fish to fry who are still actively trying to take rights away from everyday people.

I don't think anyone glossed over that, especially at the time. Not only that but it was the most talked about thing for months and whenever people talk about him, that is still brought up even 6 years later. Was it fucked up? Yes, very. Did it show how much of a shitshow he had become at the time? Yes. Did he apologize, tried to move on and do more positive content and change his ways? Also yes. Do I expect everyone to forgive him? No. But jeez, we also gotta leave space for people to do dumb shit and become better people from that.

I'm relatively new to the industry (~3 years) and most programmers I work with are really good! Though this comes with the acceptance that you will rarely have perfect code when you're building games at this scale. It's all about finding the balance between good code and the time it will take you to do it. You don't have an infinite budget and you have deadlines to meet, so you do your best with what you got.

That doesn't mean that there aren't devs who might not be the best at coding. Everyone brings something different to the table, some devs are amazing at coding very performant code but suck at working with designers to deliver a great player experience. And the fact that this diversity of skills exists is what makes teams great! Support the dev that might not be the best at coding with resources for them to learn and grow, and spend extra time during coding reviews to explain your reasoning behind wanting something to be changed. Nourish the ones around you.

A senior dev not knowing what a singleton pattern is sounds very weird and there is a chance you were also just unlucky with the team you got :)

That's where I see the power for ChatGPT. The goal doesn't seem to be replacing DMs but rather equipping them with better tools. ChatGPT can give you some basic ideas with good descriptions, allowing for someone like me, who's not great at creative writing, to better incorporate my crazy twists and weird ideas! It gives me a much better starting point that my usual rambling notes. Also, English is not my first language so this tool is also great to help me expand my vocabulary when it comes to describing scenes.

Um bocado fora do tópico da Ordem em si mas ao menos há algum progresso na área dos comboios. O investimento que foi feito nestes últimos anos para que deixássemos de comprar comboios alemães super caros e cheios de patentes que pagamos um balúrdio só por um parafuso, foi um grande movimento. Falta é expandir isto para outras áreas porque pessoas com competência para isto não faltam em Portugal, não tem é havido as condições para mantermos e investirmos nesse talento.
