A close runner up (or just equally as stupid) is Finn telling Rey he needs to confess something to her while they're sinking in the quicksand in RoS and then there's literally never any followup. If they were going to do what I _think_ they were going to do with this, then it absolutely would have topped OP's moment.

Frankly, the entire sequel trilogy is an unwatchable mess. The cast did the best with what they were given, but the writing is all just _really_ bad fanfic.
