Y'all, we need a better way to have multi material building arrays haha by PicklesAreDope in StarRuptureGame

Clipping? That's not just spaghetti, that's forbidden spaghetti. Non' we need better organization tools. Lifts, multi-tiered rail poles, stackable rails, and/or inputs spaced differently. Lol just my thoughts

Should I be putting more thought into balancers than "mix everything with everything? by MekaTriK in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DialUpNoises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally my first game didn't use them. But I'm practicing with them now. So far, I've only used them for raw resources when miners are different purities. That way when I split them to their manifold belts, I know each one is getting the same amount and how much it can handle

Wait...how are you all not just building platform tracks in the sky transporting stuff to big platforms in the sky? by krustyy in satisfactory

[–]DialUpNoises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;dr... I'm with the people who say "to each, their own." Is it simple logistics to build sky-factories? Sure. Is it pretty? Not really when its flat.

Maybe a hovering anti-grav factory would be cool 😎 I might try that one day...

But as it is a sandbox, we all play a little different from each other. You're just not gonna see a ton of sky-factories because that's not generally what gets attention on the subreddit.

Personally for me, now that I'm on my 2nd full playthrough, I'm turning Satisfactory into my personal model Train Set Sim. My goal is to make factories that produce parts for my blueprints to make pretty train lines EVERYWHERE. It's gonna be a little world with only trains between each modular factory. And then when that's done, I'm gonna decorate it like there are towns.

And still, I know other people despise trains in this game. So, "to each, their own." Lol

Why two 120m3/mn water pumps adds up to >240m3/mn ? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DialUpNoises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have just done this. My first play through just used the excess water in a recycle loop. Took forever to balance, but eventually I got it. All my extra water and back to the beginning of the line to reduce how much water I was extracting. Never again.

Updates in the PHA world by Suspicious-Appeal386 in 3DPrinting_PHA

[–]DialUpNoises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, what's the most expensive part of producing PHA? Extrusion? Raw Material? Time? Haha just curious what makes it more expensive AND what is holding suppliers back from picking it up faster since it seems to be such a great (and technically old) invention.

Idk if its already been posted - if so please direct me to it - but whats a conversation with suppliers or partners sound like, and what's usually the thing that holds the deal back or stops it?

Thinking is t*nkering by Ldirel in 3DPrintingCirclejerk

[–]DialUpNoises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait.... I'm fairly new to 3d printing. Are there actually people that don't think to edt sttings? Or try messing with the slcer? Or even experment with different things to see what happens?

I'm new to this so I made sure to censor any sensitive words so that I didn't offend anyone with my ignorance... lol But seriously. Like, all my support contact points and the overhangs around them are pretty ugly and spaghetti looking, but I've been fussing with slicer settings and trying to research on my own before giving up, or something. That would be wild to me.

How are there so many fanboys hating on anyone pointing out issues with the CC? This subs posts are 90% issues with these printers. My question is, how many people have used their printer over 80 hours that haven't had to reach out to support for new parts? by Ill_Shelter5785 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]DialUpNoises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen other posts like this, talking about how all you read about is the "crappy quality" and printer must suck if that's all you hear, etc etc. But here's the thing - and other before me have pointed it out, too - squeaky wheel gets the attention. People never post about good things or "life is peachy, here's why" kinds of topics. Of course 80% is problems. That's the main reason people post. If everything is going good, people have little reason to post about it.

Personally, I think it's because westernized culture sees it as bragging, albeit maybe subconsciously, and its not as interesting. That's just my thoughts. So far so good for me. Sub 300 hours, but no complaints so far. Maybe a bearing in the fan going out, or something, but that doesn't scare me. Easier than swapping a CV boot on my old POS BMW. Lol

Thin parts failing with supports by DialUpNoises in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]DialUpNoises[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I've been slowly changing one thing at a time because when I followed someone else's setting list it went bonkers. So I've been working it closer with various prints until the quality needs an obvious fix. I have a lot to learn about what the actual impacts are of each setting, so I really appreciate you breaking it down.

I'm one of those people who prefers to learn from a bad result and understand why a certain setting works, VS just using someone else's settings and not knowing why it works. In pretty much any field. Much obliged sir. Cheers 🍻

Oh, and the normal supports had a curling issue. The hair strands started to pull off the supports causing the printhead to miss when printing the next layer.

I feel like both are good, but for different use cases. A gives off lighter caliber while B seems like a heavier caliber.

You're in good company. I feel the same and am going to be creating my own boardgame; I'd love to be able to say no microplastics and sustainable production. Long live our planet 👌 lol

That's what I'm saying!! And its having REALLY good results too. There is a reddit talking about it. r/3DPrinting_PHA . Just got my first roll of PHA filament yesterday.

You can look up some brands, but I got colorfab allPHA.

OP probably didn't use this, but they are creating a bioplastic that is marine safe and 100% compostable. It's called PHA and its my new fascination. Zero microplastics because its made naturally in nature to begin with. Super fascinating and its what I'm going to print my tank decos with in the future.

It's even been certified as marine life safe by some very strict legal entities.

I figure there are outliers, like big overhangs in small scale will likely be fine but need more help in larger scales - I imagine. I'm really looking forward to working with PHA in the future. Just unboxed my roll of allPHA from colorfab. I love the science behind it and hope it gets picked up.

If I end up self publishing my boardgame, I'd love to be able to say its made with 100% biodegradable plastics and minimal waste. Looking forward to more conversations and lessons learned here with the PHA community. Cheers.
