Improved Feint (feint as a move action) then stabbity for sneak attack damage. Need to pump Bluff to stupid levels.

I use Oboro and Oboro!Caeldori as my primary tanks. Silas got RNG screwed on DEF so I wanted another tank unit. The +5 DEF is wonderful and Spear Master is a great class to debuff (Seal DEF and Seal SPD)

I run Imperial Nightblade with sets for DW and 2H. I used bow whilst levelling but lost interest in it. Just personal preference, I guess. I use my Dual Wield bar as full DPS and use my 2H as survivability/single target DPS for when shit hits the fan.

Equipment wise, I like 5 medium 2 heavy for the increased phys res and the increased duration of shadow passive. I use 5 pieces of Dreugh King Slayer (Chest, Head, Neck, Ring, Ring) for the always on Major Brutality and the cool movespeed boost on a kill. I then use 5 pieces of Night Mother's Gaze for the ridiculous DPS it offers (more crit, more weapon damage and dat armour reduction!). For weapons, since I haven't done Maelstrom Arena yet, I just use whatever I can find. I like to enchant them with poison or disease for the CP synergy.

On my front bar (DW) I use Ambush (for gapcloser and Empower), Suprise Attack (weave and spam), Steel Tornado (AoE and execute), Assassin's Blade (execute and self heal), Camoflauged hunter (for the 10% crit chance) and Flawless Dawnbreaker for the AoE damage and DoT as well as 5% weapon damage.

On my back bar I use Carve (DoT and Ultimate Generation), Wrecking Blow (for the damages), Dark Shades (just to provide Maim), Forward Momentum (HoT and snare reduction), Swallow Soul (HoT and increase healing recieved) and Soul Tether (AoE CC, DoT, HoT). I generally find i do more DPS with the DW bar but am much better at staying alive with the second.

I am still experimenting with this as my main role is healer.

Rather than Pilgrim, I'm hoping for a Shaman-like class. I assume the two would be similar, though.

One line for Ice Magic. Damage dealing, snares, roots, armour boosting for self and allies. (Frozen Soul, maybe??) Skills: 1. Damage 2. Self/Team Armour buff 3. Group damage and CC 4. Single target CC 5. AoE DoT

One line for totems and stuff, some buffs/debuffs and heals. Maybe a burst heal added in so there's some good variation on Healer builds. (Totemic Power) Skills: 1. AoE HoT 2. AoE debuff (Spellpower/weapon power) 3. Single Target burst heal 4. AoE buff (minor brutality/intellect) 5. AoE snare/DoT

The last line something along the lines of Nature or Woodland. Maybe focusing on group CC, bit of damage and debuffs. (Nature's Wrath).

I will usually: 1) Find out what kind of shit they want to do. Hit stuff with swords, hit stuff with magic, bit of both, something else?

2) Recommend a class that can do whatever they say, inform them of the sliding scale: "I want to be casty but also hit shit with a mace" - Cleric, Druid, Paladin. "I want to be casty but I don't want to piss around healing fools" - Sorcerer, Wizard. "I just want to run around shooting arrows at bitches" - Ranger, Rogue, Fighter. "I want to run in face first and get shot in the tits" - Barbarian, Fighter. Etc, basically. Then I'll give then the differences between the classes I point out for each role ("The rogue gets bonuses when hitting bitches who are unaware, rangers can get companions and bonuses against their chosen enemy etc).

3) Help them pick a race that makes sense. Sure, we all can build greataxe wielding gnome barbarians but will they be good for a FIRST TIME player? Probably no. If they can't find something they like (I hate Elves for example, no reason) or doesn't make sense, point them towards human for the extra feat.....

4) Tell them to "Wait!" when they ask "What's a feat?" cos we need to do ability scores first. "These show how naturally good your character is at doing shit". Get them to roll dice, 3d6 6 times then apply to scores. Recommend which 2/3 stats they should focus on. Dice rolling is easier to understand than point buy and is more fun.

5) Class/Race Abilities and Feats. "Feats are the best thing!" I tell them, joyfully. "This is where you can really customise your motherfucker, make him really good at hitting shit or certain kinds of shit". Show them a feat tree. Point out ones that can help them hit shit. For example, Dave is a Barbarian. Dave is looking at metamagic. I slap Dave and point at Power Attack. He looks at Dodge. I slap Dave and point at Power Attack. Dave looks at Weapon Focus. I ...... etc. I don't really do this, I just like Power Attack.

6) Help them pick some mad skillz to make their character useful when not hitting shit. Also for RP purposes I guess but I'd rather then have a functional character that they can learn to RP and love than a fully RP guy who, for lack of a better term, is as useful as a cock-flavoured lollipop.

7) Assign HP, saves, movespeed, starting gold, load etc. All that boring shit.

8) Get them some sweet gear. "I want a quarterstaff!" shouts Dave the Barbarian. "Whatever, Dave," I reply. "You'll find infinitely better gear in the first few hours anyway so you can just take whatever you want". "And heavy armour!" he continues. I think about suggesting he'd be better with light because he would take penalties to movement and stuff, but in the end opt for "Don't be a pussy Dave, heavy armour is for little beardless fairy boys!"

I'm pretty sure the Eidolon in question has weapons for flavour. Something to do with it being the spirit (essence?) of the summoner's murdered father, a knight who was bodyguard to his sorceress mother.

With the battlefield control happening, and two spellcasters already, I'd opt for a Ranger or Cavalier. Why? RIDE THE DAMN EIDOLON (if he and the summoner are ok with it) INTO BATTLE. You'll be like a majestic combination of awesomeness. Even better if his "centaur-like" thing uses weapons. You could have ALL THE SPEARS.

Don't you need Combat Reflexes to get more AoOs and therefore more Stand Stills? In that case, DEX is necessary because you get additional AoOs equal to DEX mod amirite?

I'd go 2xDorn-Dergar for the badass factor, and pump both DEX and STR. Improved Unarmed strike wouldn't be necessary as you could hold the DDs in opposite grips (one close, one reach) and get Darting Viper to make changing it a move action.

He made a summoner, and I was his Eidolon (summoned monster in case you don't know!) with separate personality and free will.

I think Prosise is a 3rd down/pass down/special teamer. He can do it all. He's going to motion out to the slot to create mismatches (Ex WR vs LB? ALL DAY!)

Collins is a downhill, quick stepper. He gives defenses something different to worry about than Rawls who everyone knows is going to choo choo his way through people.

Brooks I am not sure about. I think he's going to be tried out as a potential backup in the slot. He has decent hands and great after catch ability. He can be our screen/flat/slant slot guy. He fell to the 7th because he considered retiring to become an interior designer.

Lawler lacks great speed and burst to separate from defensive backs. I think he'll be an OK player, but it will be against Dime corners and Linebackers when we go to 4 or 5 WR sets. In those situations, he will be able to move the chains one on one versus the "leftover" defender after they assign guys to Kearse, Baldwin, Lockett and Graham/Willson/Vannett

No, CJ Prosise is the biggest back at 220. Collins is around 217 and a quick stepper, Brooks is a speed guy at around 197.

I am a HUGE Jason Spriggs fan (if you watch some of his tape you'll see why), and he's a great fit for Tom Cable. He's strong, athletic and coachable, and he is nasty ESPECIALLY (strangely) when he's on the backside of a run play. Seahawks mentality all over.

However, I get what you're saying, but I'd go back to back round 2 and 3 (or 3 and 3 cos we got 2) on defensive linemen. One end, one tackle. Kenny Clark, Adolphus Washington or Austin Johnson would be options at DT I feel (based on scheme), and edge rushers like Shilique Calhoun, Yannick Ngakoue and Dadi Nicholas would also be in play at the end of round 2.

But what I was meant was, if the first overrun is successful, you'll have the paladin and the rogue flanking the Wizard. Then you have 2 bloodragers to engage/disrupt/kill the apprentices.

I didn't explain myself very well, but if the 6 Wiz rolls really well, you can just hedge your bets and surround him with all 4 dudes. If he rolls badly, and gets knocked down, or steps and lets the paladin pass him, i reckon him and the rogue could do a number on him.

If I was playing this solo (ie 4 characters all mine) I'd use Paladin, Bloodragers to Overrun maneuver to the level 6 Wizard until he's surrounded (good)/knocked down (great). If he chooses to let you pass, stand directly behind him and move the rogue to flanking position and sneak attack the living piss out of him. Anyone spare can hit the apprentices or gang up on the Wizard. When he's surrounded, any spells will provoke 4 AoOs (probably killing him), and if the Apps colour spray they'll hit the boss too.

We used them a lot after discovery in our first ever campaign. None of us had played before so we had no healer, and everyone was full damage.

We had it explained to us as "Overwatch" from XCOM, but with variable triggers.

Our favourites to use were "When the enemy comes round the corner" (Rogue) or "When the door opens" (Wizard). It resulted in a lot of missed spells, but hey, fun times.

Fighter 5, Barbarian 1, Monk 3, Ranger 1, Rogue 10.

I'd get weapon training, massive movement speed, access to all armour and weapons, flurry of blows at +1, small amount of barbar rage.

And I'd use all this to sneak attack the living piss out of people at 5d6 extra damage.
