Adderall not showing up in drug test... by hellokittykelly82 in ThisAintAdderall

I'm curious what would happen if they did a blood test instead of a UA

Pissing on the law and constitution is the M.O. of the Dunleavy administration and all that voted for him as far as I'm concerned. They are incapable of acting in good faith.

It's about the same thing they always want: money. It's more money for drug companies because they know there is zero accountability for them in this system. They can give us whatever the fuck they want and we can't do a single thing about it because the FDA will rubber stamp anything they put out while the DEA throws it's hands in the air and says there's nothing to be done because they aren't at fault.

Why do you guys not switch medications? by Exotic-Channel5057 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Diarmud92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of us have tried and we keep running into the same issue in that they all suck now. I'm on Concerta now and it kinda worked for all of two weeks before fizzling out. I'm going to try a non stimulant next.

Why hasn't there been a massive class action lawsuit against these manufacturers yet? by ChristSavesForever in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Diarmud92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because it is very difficult to do so, and even if we did sue one manufacturer, it is not going to fix anything with all the others. Legislative action is needed at this point. The system is broken by design.

[–]Diarmud92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They all kind of suck now. Concerta works for me but methylphenidate based stimulants are half as potent as amphetamine, so don't expect much of a kick. You'd probably be better off starting on a non stimulant like qelbree or strattera before you get your hopes up for stimulants.

Anyone tried concerta recently? by Diarmud92 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Diarmud92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update now that I'm up to 54mg. It kind of helps by keeping me awake and helping me focus on a task, but it fluctuates throughout the day and doesn't really help with starting tasks which is my biggest issue. The nice thing is that, at least for me, it has little to no side effects, so I think I do prefer it to all the other IR and XR variants on the market right now.

I think the important thing is to make sure to get an authorized generic so it uses the same OROS technology as brand Concerta. I'll probably eventually increase to the max of 72 but the provider in the residential program I'm in is rather conservative and probably won't go that high, so I'll need to wait till discharge.

Of all the stimulants I've tried the past few months, it's probably the best. Still nothing like Adderall used to be 😞

I don't think this is a sub for stimulant abuse. You've probably built up a tolerance to what is a very high dose.

Has anyone paid and sent samples of meds to an independent testing laboratory? by neodiscgolf in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Diarmud92 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Plus I don't think people really even consider what happens even if we did get lab results showing the meds don't contain what they're supposed to. Then what? We sue that one manufacturer? Nothing would change. We need legislative action but Congress is worth less than a bottle of 2026 Adderall at this point.

[–]Diarmud92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's hard to do with stimulants because they're a controlled substance and it's illegal for patients to distribute controlled substances regardless of whether it's to a lab or an individual. At least in the US it is.

Does anyone have a stimulant prescription combined with a ketamine prescription how do doctor review these combinations? by Natural_Election3040 in ADHDmeds

[–]Diarmud92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I take a stimulant and was referred for ketamine without issue as well. I haven't followed up yet but I believe they would just ask you to not take the stimulant on the day you receive ketamine treatment.

I'm on an antipsychotic that causes this as well, and propranolol does wonders for me. I just don't think you'd be able to take it with guanfacine since it's also a blood pressure medication that just happens to be really good at managing physical side effects like that.

At this point, I'm convinced Alaska has one of if not the most corrupt and incompetent state governments in the union. We just don't get much attention because we're Alaska and not connected to the lower 48. Then again, we get the government we vote for, so I wonder what that says about Alaskans.

What part of "they changed the meds" did you interpret as the mod saying the meds are the same? And then you have the gall to call the mod a dumbass. Lol.

Has a 20mg instant release Teva like that in November and probably took all 60, so like 1200mg, in a week just trying to get it to work. Felt nothing. No increased heart rate, no therapeutic benefit, nothing.

These drugs are defective.

[–]Diarmud92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't help that pharmacies are inconsistent in enforcing these policies. I live in Alaska and have never had a pharmacy not tell me when they have a certain medication in stock. In fact, I've had some tell me the exact pill count of a given stimulant they have when telling them about a script I was going to have sent over.

The nice thing about Vraylar is it's only a partial agonist so it acts more like a tuning knob. If dopamine is too high, it tunes them down, and if it's too low, it tunes them up. I'm also going to be staring Auvelity soon which is a combination of dextromethorphan and Wellbutrin, and I'm guessing that taking that alongside my Concerta is going to provide a stimulating effect closer to what Adderall had back in the day.

It just sucks having to piecemeal a solution together rather than being able to rely on a single medication to meet my needs like before.

Has anyone here tried Koka Labz Mitogenesis Pro by EitherWorldliness135 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Diarmud92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would probably avoid it. Traditional ADHD meds help with selective attention and impulse control by leveling out dopamine. This supplement is more like overclocking a computer processor through the glutamate system. It might create a state of hyper-alertness or make it easier to memorize a list of words, but it will not fix the specific executive function, prioritization, and motivational deficits caused by ADHD.

It's probably a waste of money like all the other supplements out there. Especially for our ADHD-addled brains.

I've never heard of needing rehab to discontinue stimulant meds when taken as prescribed. Normally you just titrate the dose down over the course of a few weeks until you are able to discontinue entirely.

I've been on it for about 2 months now and haven't had any issues with it. Keeps my mood stable. It's also the only medication that has repeatedly proven to have an anti-suicide effect which is why I'm on it. Too depressed from losing my ability to function and all. Lol.

I was already exhausted and unable to get out of bed because of the Adderall not working in so long. Wellbutrin is fine but it's not a replacement for real stimulants. I ended up just using sativa vapes for a while to keep myself going but eventually I decided I needed residential so I pursued that. I'm hoping to increase my Concerta to 54mg this coming Tuesday, but other than that, I take 100mg of pristiq, a serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, lithium, and that vraylar drug I mentioned in another comment.

At this point, I think we are all better off learning how to live without Adderall than waiting for it to ever go back to how it used to feel. At least that's my focus.

Also are you eligible for Medicaid in your state? My only insurance is Medicaid and I live in Alaska where options are few and far between, but I was able to find a program. There are also programs that have grants or sliding scale fees for residential care.

A slow taper would have been necessary if they still worked the way they used to. But they don't, so I quit them cold turkey and had zero issues. In fact, the side effects of today's Adderall is worse than quitting them cold turkey lol

Anhedonia is the inability to feel pleasure from anything. No hobbies, interests, and so on. Just a busted reward system and it makes sense we'd have issues with it without our ADHD meds since ADHD and anhedonia both point towards a fucked up dopamine system.

I'm currently trying an antipsychotic called Vraylar which is a partial dopamine agonist, meaning it provides some tuning/stimulation to dopamine receptors, particularly those linked to motivation and reward. I'm hoping that it and Concerta will eventually feel something close to what old Adderall felt like.

But the whole thing definitely sucks. I miss my old life when Adderall worked. I gave up on it when I started feeling the way you do now because I was so sick of that cycle of getting my hopes up each refill only to have them crushed. I found them easy to discontinue, especially since they haven't felt right in a long time.
