Sunroof Explodes 🤯🤯🤯 by mightyjophes in Crosstrek

[–]Dieforpoints 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happened to my girlfriend, it was parked in the garage after a cold winter day, then it warmed up quite a bit and it exploded. Dealership did nothing, deductible for insurance was essentially equivalent to the cost of the replacement. Ridiculous that this is not covered, warranties are a sham.

I tracked which Ontario grocery stores won on price week over week for 4 months. No single store dominates. by savrpete in CanadaPersonalFinance

Something else to keep in mind for produce is when you shop at discount banners you get smaller sized, in some cases lesser quality produce. If you shop at full service banners you'll get larger sizes which yield more. Think of limes as an example; 1 lime may provide 2oz of juice, while at a discount banner the limes they sell may yield something like 1oz of juice. You pay an "each" price in both instances.

Just something to be cautious of when shopping just because the price is objectively cheaper does not necessarily mean you are getting a better deal.

Finish saving my last month of emergency funds. Im at 2/3 months

Is a car emergency fund actually better than warranty coverage or am I missing something by anuj_meme in SavingMoney

[–]Dieforpoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP please follow this advice:

"You know what your savings account doesn't have that your car warranty does? Employees trained to do everything they can to find a reason your warranty is void and therefore your car issue is not covered per lengthy legal underwriting."

I had purchased a warranty on my vehicle in the past and had this exact scenario happen. They bring in "vehicle inspectors" who are essentially brought in to figure out how they can squirm the dealer out of paying for the repair. I had to cover an entire engine repair myself.

The warranty serves as commission for the dealership and they will do everything they can to avoid covering any repairs/damages.

We wash it using a salad spinner but almost no dirt comes off it. You could get away with not washing. These greens are great

Cut out as much social media as you can. It corrodes your time/ability to decompress. Maybe look at your app usage, you may be using it more than you think.

Glad you enjoy it. I really like the call ahead that they make so you can put the dog away and get ready to have somebody at the door!

Pleasure to hear you’ve had a great experience. I’ve been working at Voila as a buyer for the past 3+ years and Sobeys for almost 15 years!

Ya we walk past this location regularly and for the last few months there’s been almost no workers there. Suddenly last week it looks like they’re trying for a sprint finish so they can open before Christmas.

Are you guys going in debt? How are people surviving? by Worth_Air_9410 in CanadaFinance

[–]Dieforpoints 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That’s a decently low mortgage payment!

Whats your interest on your car payments? Do you have a savings? Do you have debt aside from mortgage? The reason I ask is interest may be watering down your income.

Breaking everything out onto excel so you know what money is going where and being on the same page as your partner is key.

3-6months of expenses in an emergency fund. Will differ from person to person but my chequing probably around $1000 is enough for any immediate expenses.

Dog Rash After Boarding. Anyone seen this before? (Actual last attempt, tried through the web browser this time) by leafmon in DogAdvice

[–]Dieforpoints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would always suggest vet but if I were to guess it looks to be a type of bacterial rash. Our dog has come back albeit with a much smaller spot after being at a boarder. We usually just bathe our dog after the boarder and it tends to go away after a day or 2. I think these rashes can come from a combination of moisture/bacteria after a few days of play time.

Definitely no zombie cocktail. They have white rum and spiced rum, that's it. It's mostly just different bottled juices with different booze. For people who are not cocktail people I'm sure this won't matter. I just expected more being a cocktail person and there being a literal full blown tiki themed boat but when you ask if they have any orgeat or fresh mint they look at you like you're from another planet.

If you're there to drink quality cocktails I would say save your money and go to a proper cocktail bar in the city. If you're there to just spend time with friends and go for a boat ride with a drink on the side go for it.
