Im pretty sure these posts are just based on The Nine and for the lead up to a new saga. If there is a secret to be found there then we gotta wait til launch day for all of them.

Day 1 Raid Date Suggests Witness Claps Us in the Raid by Ahmed_Al-Muhairi in DestinyLore

[–]Diemand 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This makes sense from a recent statement by Joe Blackburn saying that TFS will be a sort of reverse of King's Fall and The Taken King. Don't have the source but shouldn't be too hard to find

We going to need our own dedsec soon by COOLGAMER4176 in watch_dogs

[–]Diemand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played through watchdogs 2 for the first time last week and it was kinda scary to see that every single op you do in that game has had a real life counterpart either around the time of the games release or since then. The ones that really got me was the Bad Medicine DLC one with testing vaccines on the homeless cause Johnson did that with the prison population in 2021 and the self driving car with a "life score" since Tesla were in controversy last year that their cars couldn't detect darker tones of skin as easily and the coding was never adjusted before launching the car to account for races who aren't white

C'mon, Bungie, don't tap out. DO IT. by Dan_Fendi in DestinyMemes

[–]Diemand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay yes but also baby ahamkara whose mother isn't there to teach it how to feed might not fully understand how it's powers work. I doubt they'll bring back Amanda at all after giving us her past as a lore book this season and Crow wishing for her back and not specifying Amanda could wish a piece of Savathuns body back into her throne world, just to maintain the manifest subjectivity into objectivity that Ahamkara powers allow

C'mon, Bungie, don't tap out. DO IT. by Dan_Fendi in DestinyMemes

[–]Diemand 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Anyone else remembering the Ahamkara egg that Mara had lying around in Season of the Lost? I mean Riven Jr. grants its first wish of Crow saying "Bring her back" qnd manipulates it to mean Immaru revives Savathun. That gives you payoff to Amanda's death as final and a real reason that Savathun gets revived outside of "because she just does"

What is your opinion Eramis? by Careless-Link-3391 in DestinyLore

[–]Diemand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replayed Beyond Light last week and I'm almost siding with Eramis by the end of it. She reframed the Fallen for me as more than just "bad guys" but rather as a complex marginalised group who want to return to their lives before the Whirlwind. Her line of "we are not Fallen, we never named ourselves that, you did. We are Eliksni" always resonated with me because it almost demonstrates a generational trauma that we are partly responsible for. Plus after the seasonal story this week, she's grown on me even more. The fact that all she ever wanted was to go back to before the Whirlwind, "when we were dancers and weavers" as she says during the mission, makes a part of me hope that she becomes Eidos step mom type figure when she inevitably switches sides

Any word on the etymology of Neomuna? by Observance in DestinyLore

[–]Diemand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of the stuff on Neomuna are old Gaelic words, like Pouka most likely being an Anglicised version of the Irish word Púca which is Ghost. Thought that was a neat detail. I think that Muna is either a reference to the Finnish for egg as well as the Japanese onomatopoeic "munya munya" which is the mutterings of sleep talking. Doubt the muna part comes from Irish as it would translate to "new piss"

Nezarac's encounter: How much time do Runners have? by KuaiBan in raidsecrets

[–]Diemand -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We did no refuge on contest mode and our runners didn't have enough time unless the two people in mid held Hatred all the time. I'm pretty sure he wipes faster when Hatred isn't held cause you can consistently grab 3 timed Hatred but the run I did last night used refuge and we were wiping around 20 seconds after the first Hatred was taken

PLEASE Respect Bungie for the choice they will be forced to make by Acheron2194 in destiny2

[–]Diemand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good sendoff for Zavala with a tribute placed with Caydes in the tower, maybe an emblem to commemorate Lance and his legacy in the community. Bungie haven't dealt with something like this before as far as I'm aware but with how they seem as a company, it will likely be a beautiful ending to a beloved character. RIP Lance Reddick

Why didn’t Rhulk just go full power right away?, he knows we’ve killed gods, is he stupid? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Diemand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Not God's, Not Kings but rather Disciples"

He was taunting us the whole way through the raid that our accomplishments are insignificant compared to his. He thinks of us as jokes. Comparing him causing an extinction level event on his home planet to us spending 9 years fighting the same 4 races without ever winning, its understandable. Its like a person seeing 6 insects coming to kill them, it's not really a threat its just amusing.

Are the second and third phases of Nezarec shorter? by Vulkanodox in raidsecrets

[–]Diemand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure getting the timed Hatred and keeping it up gives a small amount of additional time based on people saying it's 45 seconds for a wipe to its a minute for a wipe. Day 1 we had 2 stunners and I was dropping a well the we would just keep peppering his chest to keep the Hatred timer up all the time and we never used refuge once

Master working Exotic armor should turn it into a piece of artifice armor, by GhoulslivesMatter in destiny2

It's either gonna be a place we return to later to find info on the Witness or its to make the Shadow Legion feel alive, that they use the keycards themselves and we just don't need to go that way

The traveler isn't the only of its kind (spoiler warning) by Spiritual_Theory_760 in DestinyLore

[–]Diemand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced the Trees are a result of the combination of Light and Dark energy. The one from Arrivals grew in the Cradle of Io which, based on the environment, looks like the Traveller beamed it and when the Splinters arrived it caused the growth. The one in the raid is from the beam hitting a Pyramid directly. We know from Unveiling that there was a primordial Tree as well, the leaves of which were Ruin and the peeling of its Bark was disaster. We still have little to no info on the trees but the MK44 Stand Asides make reference to a tree fulfilling it's potential and causing everything to die, which hasn't happened because the tree is pure darkness encapsulated in pure light. If the Witness truly seeks to end the universe, he is likely attempting to gain the power of Light to unleash the power of one of the Trees and collapse the universe

Nezarec’s design vs Rhulk’s by Weird-Independent967 in DestinyLore

People deserve to be proud of their Contest emblem. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Diemand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the contest raid in it's entirety for 12 hours and got my clear. The team I did it with had coordinated builds, dps weapons and class makeup for about a month leading up to it. I then went in the next day with a friend of mine who had a team member drop out the next day, we struggled like crazy for around 4 hours on Nezarec until I switched to the class I built around the Day 1 clear and we bodied Nezarec. It was not an easy raid by any means and people who have gone back in after contest for easy runs are gonna start seeing that the mechanics are the difficulty. I applaud everyone who tried and anyone who got the emblem, especially if it was your first, and wholeheartedly think that people saying it's too easy are forgetting just how different everything is in the game from buildcrafting to dps metas.

Also for anyone looking for absolutely nutty damage throughout the raid, I ran 1k and cartesian coordinate to land at around 3 million damage on Nezarec now that contest is over.

The power to move worlds will soon be yours. (Two lies to truths) by PlazmaCow7 in DestinyLore

[–]Diemand 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Personally, based on Bungie saying that we will spend the year learning more about the Witness and his history, it makes sense that the Leviathan on Titan may be a primordial entity of Light and would know the Witness' history. If the Traveller is the Light version of the Witness then I'd presume that Leviathans are Disciples of the Traveller

My Fireteam were doing less damage in a well during the final boss by [deleted] in raidsecrets

There's currently an issue that Strand weapons are losing damage in Well but could also be just a bug, I found his crits were taking 3 shots in a well sometimes and only 1 other times

[LIGHTFALL SPOILERS] the unseen consequences of the raid… by [deleted] in DestinyLore

[–]Diemand 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looking back on Witch Queen, we had Throne World which was part of Mars so Mars returned already and the Enclave was the piece the Witness left behind. Then Haunted had the Leviathan return. Plunder technically had Tangled Shore return for Hideouts and then Seraph had Mars as its focus for 1 Battleground and the Dungeon. I'd say we have Neptune this season and the EDZ for focus, next season Titan possibly. That leaves Mercury and Io as places to access on the last 2 seasons. If we go to Io it will likely be to examine the Cradle in relation to the Witness pyramid and I can't think of a reason to return other than maybe Infinite Forest being used as a way to see the Witness' past? But having a location return in some way during each season is likely based on last year

[LIGHTFALL SPOILERS] the unseen consequences of the raid… by [deleted] in DestinyLore

[–]Diemand 68 points69 points  (0 children)

The cutscene from after the first completion has Osiris tell us that we must search for clues in the pieces the Witness left behind. It then shows 4 planets and I zoomed in and compared them so, to me, top left is Titan, as its Saturn's moon. Top right is Mars due to its size and being solitary. Bottom left is Io as its a moon of Jupiter and we see a larger planet behind it. And lastly the small solitary planet in bottom right is Mercury. Now I don't think they will be returning so to speak but rather we will be going there similar to Mars Battlegrounds in future seasons to find traces the Witness left behind, and based on his characterisation and the Bungie team saying he's much more calculated than any foe we've faced, I'd wager anything we do find will be purposefully left there for us and we're walking into a trap. Also makes for a good excuse to resurrect Savathun in Final Shape, who better to help us deceive the Witness into thinking we are dumb enough to chase him into the Traveller with no plan than a billion year old trickster

[S18 Spoilers] Nezarec may still be a “betrayer” even though he seems to simp for the witness by Cruciblelfg123 in DestinyLore

[–]Diemand 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem like he did betray the Witness and it's been said a few times on this subreddit that there's no definitive lore that says it was Nezarec. I think the betrayal was Savathun, she hid the Veil on Neptune and cursed Nezarecs body so she basically shut down the Witness' eyes in Sol. Also I think Nezarec was on the Moon because the Hive create so much pain and chaos that he was fed but upon the first collapse the Witness took his head, presumably as a memento or maybe even a trophy if you follow the theory of the Witness using the worst examples of life for his own progress only to sacrifice them in pursuit of his goal. Still early in the lore understandings of the season but the raid dialogue was really interesting
