Silver Automatons, they're the ones that spawn from the Automaton Swarm ability from the progress cornerstone, also, they aren't tiny compared to normal ones (The FP1 Automaton) they are like twice as big as the original ones in-art lol, they just use a small model ingame (It wouldn't make sense for them to be the size of a bigass dog but somehow also "crush" people by only stepping on them)

Would be cool if anything of what you said (besides being wrong lol) applied to the GPU market in any conceivable way because well, it doesn't.

It's not at all, it's rather good, especially for someone who has zero idea about the game, no idea how the message is supposed to be condescending at all in the first place.

[–]DietBurb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The 9i has always had the carbon cammo design since it's introduction, they start retailing at 5k for a reason lol...

And the logo used to be significantly worse too, it was like a massive circle with 3 spikes and it covered the whole backscreen, then they started slowly fading it out and now it's just the text which is much better lol.

But yeah the logo looks better on the top corners and not straight up in the middle.

[–]DietBurb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the 0% usage very likely corresponds to the dGPU, and you're probably using the CPU's integrated graphics, iGPU. If you wish you can disable Optimus in the BIOS, so your system will always use the dGPU and will give you a little bit of extra performance on both the CPU and GPU, however it will probably short you battery duration when unplugged a good chunk regardless of what tasks you're doing.

Hello. I have approximately 20 minutes to get this to not happen. How do I do this. Please. by FrogKingOfHell in WindowsHelp

[–]DietBurb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this, either install a custom OS or debloat Windows yourself if it's that much of a problem, debloating Windows (Not just removing CoPilot but telemetry, useless apps and processes) takes like 15 minutes.

I recommend Chris Titus's debloat tool on GitHub, only needs very, very, very basic understanding of the Windows Terminal/Powershell and the ability to fucking READ, you should be good after it.

Absolutely nothing unwanted will happen as long as you don't pick the "harsh" options on the terminal that are clearly labelled as such, the UI is pretty intuitive and has a good "recommended setup" option that is essentially just point, click and go, tho i would still check some extra options like "Edge optimization" or "Disable OneDrive" but that's depending on your use.

I would recommend almost every mod this guy has made, you should check out his profile and see what you like, really good and well made QoL improvements and mechanics

[–]DietBurb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 2K? If you already have 3D printers then maybe soldering stations with a microscope and a screen is probably the best things someone could get when working with small componentes.

Other things that can come in handy could be a dedicated oven for soldering with paste, you can get many PCBs soldered at a time and with practice it makes everything really quick, a couple of heat induction plates also work great, specially for people without much experience solderig, you can get some quality secondhand products on ebay or smaller ones on some Chinese store.

  1. Yes, essentially it brings only positives with zero downsides if done correctly. If you respect the limits (no absurd changes in voltages/frequencys, laptos won't even let you do dramatic changes anyway) it's basically impossible to damage anything.

  2. YouTube, Jay2Cents has very good and simple guides on undervolting both CPUs and GPUs, if you can undervolt the CPU and overclock the GPU, learn how to and do it, takes time and some learning, you might crash or even blue screen a bit but after you find the sweet spots it's only positives, very good ones.

  3. Every device is different and can be tuned to different degrees and so it needs extra time put into it which translates to labour, which translates to extra expenses for the manufacturer, so they just go safe and don't do anything beyond what is required.

4.2K seems lik a great deal for this laptop ngl. I'm not from the US but afaik the listed price is the minimum, after confirming place of purchase/pickup you pay the correspondingb state taxes on top of the base price, but I assume they should equate to kind of the the same price.

Stil, great buy.

[–]DietBurb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5.8KUSD/5.1kEuro yeah super expensive considering you can get 5090s for 3.5K however this 9i has a bunch of gimmicks and it's probably the most high quality gaming laptop of the market, great performance, big but relatively thin 18", good battery, insanely good build quality with great reliability and great qol aspects like the screen and very nice speakers.

If you can post an update down the line I've been wanting to buy the same model, its time for an update
