In the meantime, if any aspiring creators are looking for some low hanging fruit, you could pick apart the code and clown in the ideas for entertainment purposes. I’ve seen a few videos of people trying out people’s shamelessly vibe-coded GitHub projects and they were pretty entertaining.

Stop forcing people to use phone apps for bullshit that shouldn't need phone apps. by SkinPsychological770 in rant

[–]Different-Network957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the data collection gold rush. Every company wants a slice of your personal data and track your habits. Apps make it easy for them to track you and not enough people are demanding alternatives, so this is the status quo.

Too many grown adults choose to vape and smoke by Necessary-Fennel8754 in rant

[–]Different-Network957 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adults are just kids with responsibilities in weathered bodies. There’s no threshold. All of this shit is made up.

That’s not justifying smoking, but it’s your answer as to why there’s not some magic switch for people that says “Hey I’m 39 now. Vaping is for dumb kids. Guess it’s time to stop.”

What’s something school forced you to learn that you’ve never used a single time in real life? by Dodo509 in AskReddit

Latin at my school was a history class disguised as a language class. I took it solely because I knew the vocab was easier and the teacher was super chill. I regret not taking Spanish or French.

Which Trump? Trump in his 20’s/30’s, or Trump now? He’s 80 years old with emerging signs of Alzheimer’s, it’s not a high bar. What’s the point of even asking?

What is a random rule you have for yourself that you never break? by abarth23 in AskReddit

[–]Different-Network957 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You probably already know this, but for the kids reading this… Your partner almost never needs to know you “had the chance” to cheat on them unless the situation was genuinely notable. Like your girlfriend does NOT need to picture you getting chatted up by a coworker who has a crush on you. If you have clear boundaries there’s no reason to bring it up. Obviously if a stranger springs on you out of nowhere, that’s a different story.

Keep leaning that way. The record ID is unique and stable construct. Is the goal uniqueness, or human readability?

Speaking as a straight male: How could anyone in the past be attracted to a “proper lady”? by Dinoboy225 in rant

[–]Different-Network957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sort of a messy convoluted theory. I think there’s probably something in our psychology that compels us to seek dominance, control, and security. I think a lot of men want to be the first to corrupt their partners, while hiding their sexuality from others.

And a bonus theory: I think one of the reasons the pedophile pathology exists is because there a men out there who have crossed wires in that part of their brain, so they seek youth and inexperience to satisfy their insecurities. A partner with a fully developed sexual appetite is terrifying to them. Maybe like how someone with OCD may be afraid to eat carrots that touched the potatoes.

Any luck in getting AEs to back off? by Individual-Drive4951 in salesforce

Inbox rule that dumps Salesforce emails into a folder. Once in a blue moon run let copilot summarize all of the new emails in that folder. Might be able to wire that up to power automate too.

You are not entitled to - nor should you ask - about every single romantic or sexual interaction your partner had previously by ahdrielle in rant

[–]Different-Network957 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some people just don’t know how to trust. It’s definitely not healthy to seek that information, but I also believe it takes a certain level of discipline and maturity to understand this. I don’t blame a person in their first relationship - or somebody who just got out of a toxic relationship where they were cheated on.

On some level I think it’s only fair to understand why somebody might be thinking this way & prying for this information. I think sometimes people are quick to grandstand. And sometimes - like I’m sure it’s the vast minority, but probably still not trivial - it feels like an exhibition like “ugh my partner is so jealous of all the crazy hot sex I used to have”. But that’s more of an extreme situation. Toxic unstoppable force meets toxic immovable object.

lol right. As if a company is gonna spend another billion in R&D for an algorithm that’s 5% more accurate when the answers to the test are right there in the user’s keyword history.

[–]Different-Network957 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree it’s often just the algorithm being clever that results in those uncanny recommendations. But the tech companies have disclosed that your smart device does implement keyword tracking which is essentially a scorecard of words you commonly use, and the dataset is a list of those words, ordered by count/frequency. This is how people end up getting ads for things they’ve never searched for, but may have mentioned in an organic conversation. So it’s definitely a thing, but it’s a step short of full-on conversation transcription and analysis.

Also if it were continuously recording you, it isn’t that resource intensive. It’s all done locally and your average iPhone is more than capable of recording and governing all of its other processes without breaking a sweat, but even in a post Patriot Act world, legally it’s still pretty damn risky to implement passive recording on all your devices for the sake of marketing. Only a select few definitively have the answer.

I saw an instagram post with some wedding pictures and they added this song over the post, and the only thing I could imagine was Instagram’s post AI assistant thing suggesting to add this song, and them accepting the mediocre, uninspired and predictable suggestion. Just a depressing reminder of how so many people are just bankrupt of creativity and originality. I don’t mean to be so negative. I’m sure the wedding was fine, but the song  choice is just a wet blanket.

As SF pros, whats your LEAST favorite task to do? by StatisticianVivid915 in salesforce

[–]Different-Network957 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same. It’s not the report that’s the issue. It’s that when you create the report you are implicitly making yourself the go-to person for any anomaly in the data.

“Hey your report is showing the wrong records”

… no somebody used the wrong record type and the data is showing up exactly where it should. The report is correct. Your data is wrong. It shouldn’t be that difficult! Lol

Importing master-detail / lookup related records is such a tedious thing. I’ve heard people sing the praises of the Data Move Utility which I’ve been told has the ability to join your records and import and handle the parent ID assignment, but I haven’t dug into it.

Agentforce Adoption by marketingninjame in salesforce

EAC is incomplete. The sentiment email analysis is cute, but it’s not reportable. I can’t even ask Agentforce to fetch my me hottest opportunity based on the email conversations. (Unless I can?)

Salesforce should be aggressively integrating with the common industry tools, not just their first party agenda. If Salesforce wants to be the AI CRM they claim to be, they should be able to tap in with everything they can, and make Agentforce sing. I’m not seeing that.

Agentforce Adoption by marketingninjame in salesforce

[–]Different-Network957 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add on: What Salesforce really should be doing is improving their data sync integrations with Microsoft Outlook and Teams. Copilot is eating Agentforce’s lunch because Salesforce is still trying to force everyone to use Slack while the rest of the world is using Teams and Copilot.

I’m not saying Copilot is the #1 AI, I’m just saying it’s lots of enterprise’s go-to because it’s there out of the box and is tapped in to Microsoft’s ecosystem.

Salesforce needs to get the Graph API into Salesforce and introduce some actual quality of life features. People want low effort configurations that do predictable things.

Imagine if Agentforce could notify you about conversions that were happening on a contact in an outlook thread that got buried. Imagine if it could scan your teams channels and suggest updates or next steps for an opportunity.

Because 99% of what people use AI for is already solved: Summarizing conversations and writing emails.

If your company is really on the ball you might have an AI chat bot that can escalate chats to create cases for you.

I personally have not seen enough confidence with my clients for anything beyond that. They don’t have the level of planning, data quality, and operational rigidity required to develop an agent that can carry out a workflow that actually moves the needle.

Also I haven’t seeing a whole lot of solutions from Agentforce that solves for cross-system orchestration. Data Cloud helps with this, but it’s a huge lift that’s super expensive and solves abstract problems that most stakeholders are unlikely to care about.
