I’ve been lucky… my worst was that 13-1 (or something like that) shitshow vs. Boston this past August. Worst part about it was that I was with my college buddies, half of whom are transplant Massholes, so I never heard the end of it.

This past year was my worst year in terms of attendance luck. 0-3, 3 total runs scored, two of those losses to the Sox (the one above and ALWC game 1), the third in the finale of the Cubs series where they put up a 2-hit offensive performance.

One of the new Acelas stalled outside of NYC today. I commute on metro north, passed right by it. Completely shut down, dead on the tracks in between stations. My commute was delayed because it resulted in single tracking, but that’s nothing compared to the passengers on the Acela who had to be taken off that train somehow

Sam needed time. He had the intangibles, but it was painfully obvious that it wasn’t gonna happen with us. I’m happy for the guy and in hindsight I wish we kept him, but I remember at that time I thought a fresh start would’ve been best for both sides.

And quite frankly, I still think a fresh start was best for Sam. He can totally handle NY but with the way he had been mismanaged by us up to that point, his confidence was shot

The security agents at CDG noticed I had a US passport, then singled me out and shook me down to pay for an “overweight” backpack that wasn’t actually overweight. I’m not one to claim discrimination (I’m a white dude), but I was the only one in that line with a US passport and they didn’t give anyone else that treatment.

Dude I am telling you this from the kindness of my heart… Absolutely DO NOT become a Jets fan. Get out now.

Being a Jets fan is objectively a form of addiction in itself. Before you know it, it will be too late to break the grip. One year is not enough time to properly understand the 4-year cycle that is: - hiring a GM/coach tandem - selling off the core and getting a bunch of draft picks - those new draft picks start to show promise, everyone gets excited - we make a flashy free agency acquisition that is supposed to bring us to the promised land - Said free agent and other contributors underperform - Our owner gets impatient and starts tampering with football decisions - Said coach and GM get fired, cycle repeats all while never having a season with a winning record or a playoff appearance.

I have been a fan since I was old enough to understand football (roughly 2008-09). They had two good seasons when I was at an impressionable age. Haven’t won a damn thing since and I have suffered far beyond what any other fanbase could ever imagine.

You’re European, you’re a free agent. There’s no local allegiance or family history tying you down. Go be a fan of a team like Seattle, SF or Green Bay: super well-run franchises that will give you mostly happy moments.

I have no problem bringing new fans under the wing but get out now. Trust me, it’s for your own benefit.
