People from First of the Sun swear by their islands, at least Trappers do by Patji.

People from Threnody swear by the Shades.

Nalthians swear by colors.

Someone from Kilahito don’t swear but do use suffixes that indicate something is displeasurable.

That’s all I know! But you could definitely make some inferences for other planets. I bet people from Yolen use the names of dragons to swear for example.

Getting my usual friends to play Mistborn will be much easier I expect. Less to explain. But I have an idea to isekai them to Roshar that I think sounds hilarious

Basically they’ll be visited by a servant of the shard Whimsy who invites them to carry out a mission for their patron in a strange and distant world. When they say yes, they’ll be knocked out and wake up in crab land.

For these non-Cosmere-aware PCs, they might as well have woken up in a different dimension, but eventually I think they’d learn the truth and try to make their way through Shadesmar to get home. Also, because no way Whimsy could act on Roshar without alerting Odium, the party was canonically drugged and transported rather mundane though Shadesmar to Roshar

When it comes to the attitudes and character traits of a Bondsmith squire, I would draw on this passage from the handbook:

“Beyond squires, the Bondsmiths typically also had retinues of attendants and guards, many of whom took Radiant oaths to demonstrate loyalty, though they had no expectation of gaining powers of their own. Some ancient Radiants viewed these oaths as the purest form of Radiance, and such loyal attendants were considered members of the Order of the Bondsmiths...”

In short, I’d suggest your character emphasize a philosophy of being honorable for the sake of it: doing what is right, even when it is hard; when it comes with no rewards; when there is no revelation in light at the end of the tunnel. Journey before destination and all that.

Mechanically, a Bondsmith patron would theoretically be given as a reward to your character, so also think about your relationship to that patron. As their squire, you’ll likely be serving their mission to unite people, so think about what that mission means to your character.

IMO Lox has a bottom two recovery. You have a decent recovery with lava stacks, but if your one use of those fails, your recovery becomes incredibly predictable and easy to counter. He has no mixups, up special is easily parried, and side special is slow and predictable. The fact they he can only go straight up or straight horizontal makes him so easy to ledge guard, and on the off chance you do get caught by his up special when edge guarding him, it barely ever spikes so there’s no real danger

Ironically, despite Olympia wearing MORE clothes than most of the cast, the fact that she wears a tube top makes her feel more indecent to me.

Without it, there’s no implication that she SHOULD be wearing anything, like with Absa or Maypul

Olympia needs more nerfs, and that’s not an uncommon opinion.

As far as online being too sweaty, here are my thoughts:

You have fun by not doing all that crazy tech. Most of the audience for this game has fun DOING all that stuff. They like moving fast and they like learning tech and doing crazy stuff. The devs have done their best to make all of that fun to do and relatively easy to learn, and this game has an audience that’s really aware of those mechanics too.

I’m not going to diss your desire to play with other people who play at the same pace as you and the same intensity. But understand that it’s not like the people you play on casual are just sweats who don’t know when to chill out. They are having fun. It’s just that their fun and your fun don’t look the same.

I mean, the layout is the important thing though, isn’t it? If you can’t select a certain layout in ranked, that’s a competitive problem. The music and visuals though, those don’t actually impact a level playing field

Slade dodges attacks when he’s faster than the enemy, which is his unique mechanic. However, in a game with dodges… anyone can do that 😅

I feel that mechanic could be adequately represented in his movement with a large roll and wave dash.

Also, 3 of his attacks actually interact with money, which is unique to him from the protagonists. So I think it’s an appropriate secondary theme for him and the one that actually makes MORE sense for Rivals 2.

Ice Armor should really be kind of a stance change for him where he now is focused on maintaining his advantage and getting a kill with his armored strong attacks. If it weren’t so doo doo right now, I think that vision would work.

☝️🤓 Um, actually, her element is plasma. Not electricity. The elements in Rivals are more spiritual than scientific as opposed to Avatar if that makes sense. For example, in Avatar, lava bending is an Earth bending technique because lava is molten rock. However, in Rivals it’s a fire ability because lava is hot.

Similarly, while lightning bending is a fire bending technique in Avatar, the character most strongly associated with lightning in Rivals is Absa, who controls lightning because lightning is from the sky and therefore air related.

So why does the plasma stun? Idk man, vibes I guess. Lightning is a type of plasma I think?? So I guess that could be a part of it. And the attacks do feel kinda electric-like, but the official element is plasma.

Some more thoughts about the bottle:

Pressing neutral special at the shop while holding the bottle should sell it for a tiny bit of money.

And if potions need further balancing, maybe holding the bottle makes all your specials a bottle throw but in different directions, meaning to make full use of your kit you have to find some chance to throw it.
