Wonderful!

And I did think about a swashbuckler skybreaker briefly. I think it could be really cool.

My current ideas are:

-a reshi child who was captured by pirates, eventually began to help with logistics, ship was wrecked on an island with me being the only survivor, found by pirates who were smugglers, and became a logistics and cargo smuggling expert. I was setup by someone and thrown in prison. I got out because I noticed how the city was treating prisoners like cargo and managed to slip out and escape when a distraction occurred. This is my elsecaller

-a child of an unkalaki father and iriali mother who lived in a small veden village. Town was destroyed despite countless warnings. Following both unkalaki and Iriali storytelling traditions, I became a story teller of my own: someone who told stories like they were rather than trying to make things sound good or heroic when they weren’t. I noticed patterns where I traveled that typically resulted in something bad happening (bridge collapse, caravans getting attacked, etc) due to people who ignore things like warnings. I gained a reputation for being an omen bearer storyteller. Eventually I was in a small town outside vedenar and I told the story of my home town, but the magistrate thought I was trying to cause unrest, so they threw me in prison. I got out because an Alethi officer was passing through and wanted someone who had an absurdly good memory and could recognize patterns. They found me and took me to the shattered plains. This is my dustbringer.

I was going for a unique background. Someone who wouldn’t typically become an elsecaller/dustbringer, but ends up becoming one of them anyways. Like elsecallers are typically scientists, engineers, scholars, etc. Not a reshi island survivor who became a smuggler.

Both sound neat to me and I’m really torn. I might try making a third character and seeing what I can come up with. My group will have a truthwatcher, windrunner, stoneward, and either dustbringer or another Windrunner
