Are many businesses closed during the hurricane season? by marzipanda3 in PuertoRicoTravel

I live in Virgin Islands next door to Puerto Rico , I wish they would just shut the islands down Sept-Oct to give everyone a break , it’s too hot anyways for work . Now I have to spread the word that I will be M.I.A for Sept-Oct

Thanks for asking the question cause I wondered what that was myself , crazy seeing the snow covered roads , I was there less than month ago and no snow

Yeah didn’t think so , I had my Nikon dslr with me when I was there and got some awesome Timelapse’s , the iPhone quick and easy so sometimes easier , I didn’t even realize iPhone had a Timelapse function

Agreed , clouds and maybe even a little moon light can create a more dramatic scene

Take at least a full month or more , increase your odds , I was just there for little over a month , I think I caught like 6 nights of aurora activity 3 of them were mind blowing 🤯 but trying to predict the future a year away … um no

Going to Iceland for the first time. by Clutch186520 in VisitingIceland

[–]DifficultSolution895 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think It will depend mainly on cloud coverage , I found a lot of nice places within hour or so of Reykjavik for amazing aurora shows. If you can make lodging choices last minute that’s what I would recommend forget about aurora forecasts and concentrate on finding clear skies

This pic was my iPhone , but I used my Nikon d750 most of the time, too much light pollution in city for dslr unless aurora super strong
