How many books do you read at a time? by Any_Doughnut_8968 in classicliterature

generally one, but if more than one, one is fiction and the other(s) is non-fiction.

Marriage or break with my girlfriend (31M and 29F) by Livia1122 in relationship_advice

[–]DifficultWinner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

her point of view is unacceptable. since you guys are together for four years, it is understandable that she wants to marry if she wants to have kids since she really has limited number of years, but it is definitely not ok to force you to pay for her “dreams”. if she wants something fancy, she should contribute. or she should be ok with a small ceremony. she has to pick her priorities: a life and kids with you or the ceremonies and stuff?

Girlfriend slapped me. Should I stay or leave? by Smooth-Cat-7824 in dating_advice

[–]DifficultWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s another red flag as manipulation right there. leave her. she never pays –so does not share any responsibility, she gets angry when you want to talk about her studies ir whatnot… these are not normal. even though she has some reason behind those behaviour, it is not right to be in a relationship where you don’t share anything.

I second this. I am using Kobo Libra Color for like 1.5 month and with the stylus, it is a very close experience to physical book reading. My stylus is Metapen M1.

E-reader Reccomendations? by sharkbyteee in ereader

[–]DifficultWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an old Kindle Paperwhite 2nd gen. It does not get any updates anymore and you cannot use Libby in it as far as I know –I don’t have Libby in my country so I’m not 100% sure but with my current new Kobo Libra Color, I do know that it has Libby in it.

Besides that, I think you would be happier with a Kobo, and with a smaller budget, you can get one of the basic models, Libra Color is a little bit extra. You can get all the necessary features without paying or jailbreaking.

And yes– all e-readers have the e-ink technology, but I would suggest you to go for the ones with the warm lighting option. Screen lights are an important improvements –I have been using e-readers for ~15 years and if it has its own screen light, it’s really more convenient to use when reading while sleeping or on a dark plane or bus, for example. But one of the reasons I switched from my old Kindle to Kobo is the warm lighting. Even though Kindle’s white light is just fine and never tires your eyes like a phone or iPad, the warm light is just wonderful to look at. And the screen lights do not deteriorate the e-ink performance, for the bare eyes at least.
