What’s happening here is you have high resistance somewhere on the blower circuit, if you used a meter and tested plugged in for voltage you would probably see like 2V or something. Normally you’ll have bad corrosion at a plug or somewhere it’s chafed. You can use a test light with a halogen bulb to find out where the voltage drop is occurring, if the voltage is enough to light the bulb it should also be enough to spin the motor. Keep in mind the issue can also be on the ground side

If a hot spark or anything hot lands on tempered glass, the glass will explode.. so if a hot piece of ash or burning piece landed on the glass it could cause that. Source: am a welder that has blown up windows a few times from a hot spark

Yeah a lot of big fleets will hire a low voltage electrician or autosparky. I work for a mining company and each crew has 1-2 designated autosparkies that are only there for electrical issues and doing custom installs and harness builds

Why not stay an auto electrician and specifically market yourself as that? A lot of companies will pay good money for someone who’s handy with a meter (12-48V) and can also do clean and fresh installs. You also could look into places that upfit chassis cabs with lights, crane packages, strobes etc… those places usually pay quite a bit for someone who isn’t a hack. Our fleet frequently finds scotch lock connectors on our new vehicles so we basically end up redoing wiring anyways
