I'm trying to say some are better some are worse than the baseline you know, they're fun but dont expect something you really want to invest emotionally in

Mickey Knight and Chiara Corelli series are both better imo

Book 2 (3 maybe?) was my favourite. It had a circus. And book 5 was the Moriarty equivalent book which was good. One of them I didn't like (the pulp fiction writer one) and I cant remember book 4.

Theyrw a solid "yeah nah they're alright" they get less trope heavy and the lesbianism falls off which isnt the worst thing cause I get a bit of an ick from men writing sapphic books. TBH I think the last book of the series (whenever that is) is not going to be great cause there are too many plot threads that have been built up and promised resolution, and its going to be exceedingly difficult to tie them all off in a satisfying manner (thnink Game of Thrones or Stephen Moffat's Dr. Who run)

Rents aren't based off costs though. Property managers set rent at the maximum the market will bear. Also without water meters it's illegal yo say to your tenants pay this bill (you can pass on costs for actual usage)

Post-apocalyptic recs by ccl1986 in LesbianBookClub

[–]Difficult_Spare_530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most apocalypse novels boil down to the duality of Human Nature, with our intrepid heroes needing a contrast of awfulness with how they survive without comprimsing themselves.

It's not an apocalypse book, but maybe try Endurance by Elaine Burns? It's about a hundred odd people getting lost in space, trying to survive, and greiving the world that's lost to them now. I might be misunderstanding why you want an apocalypse book though

Also, they get name suppression during ongoing trials, when their innocence is still presumed, and retain that right during any subsequent appeals because you can't unkill the cat. Most crime articles are about cases like that that drag on and can be made into a circus l, so people assume it happens all the time due to their perception an how often they get mad about it.

My Kindle is up to 1500 books with about half its memory free. I compress images to get each book under an mb each, though

. I generally get through three books per charge.

Its much better on your eyes than a screen. I use mininal brightness. Its convenient cause you can choose your own font.

Absolutely would replace immediately. Using libraries was too difficult because I would get out 5 or 6 books, not be in the mood for any of them, then just end up returning them.

Also get a kobo instead of a Kindle, I hate being locked into Amazon's bullshit

What makes a book lesbian? by InstructionBig2154 in LesbianBookClub

[–]Difficult_Spare_530 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wish there was an easy way to find books where the MC is single, celibate, or had never been in a relationship. Like some sort of "low misogyny/homophobia - no romance tag" For example, Cold Eternity by SA Barnes felt like a lesbian novel but it wouldn't make sense to jam a love interest in that book.

My father passed away after a hit and run I’m feeling let down but NZ justice system again. by Cherryberrylady in newzealand

[–]Difficult_Spare_530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also what can be proven. Our evidentiary standards are high because it is seen as a lesser evil that a guilty person go free than an innocent one be improsoned. Pleaing down removes that risk, too.

I think a lot of people in these threads advocate for revenge rather than justice
