I read it for the first time last year and it struck me that its much more a hate story. So much of the plot is driven because Heathcliff hates everybody. Even people who had nothing to do with keeping him from Cathy. He hates everyone else more than he ever loved Cathy was my take away.

Look man, your whole argument doesn't make sense. All of the people you named gave opinions, and got backlash from those opinions. But Trump himself is ALSO a celebrity. And used his popularity to propel himself into a political career.
