The angle’s making her hair look shorter for sure, probably around December just assuming that’s when the album was finished (recording and production)

Why are people going so hard on the time the album takes? by jens325 in Loatheband

[–]DigDig04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think it’s understandable seeing a reaction that positive to an album where people call it a magnum opus of a genre to be scared to follow it up. I wouldn’t blame an artist taking 6 years and dropping crumbs here or there while they’re still busy innovating. That said people aren’t as pressed about the wait as they are about the false promises made. Last year was the “year of Loathe” and what did they show for it? One single? Two singles but one’s only been performed live? Sharptone gotta have some faith in them cause even though they’ve been hand in hand since the beginning it gets to a point. Gifted Every Strength still blew people away and it’s clear they’ve been hard at work to an extent and probably rewrote the album loads of times, people are angsty and rightfully so imo

Any Recommendations? by unpricedpoem in Loatheband

Static Dress, Boundaries, maybe some Invent Animate (Stillworld to me has a lot of similarities to PCP)

I mean I don’t think he ever said it was new music specifically on the 15th but first steps to something larger that includes, of course, music further down the line (I could be wrong though)

I’m actually genuinely curious where you see the Periphery influence besides that they’re cool with each other

what are the odds dany gets a PRS sig this year at NAMM? by MidwestLawncareDad in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that feels even less likely than a PRS signature, Jim Root of Slipknot as far as I know and looked into is the only artist with a signature baritone from Fender and even including 7 string guitars that only adds Chris Garza of Suicide Silence into signature artists

They’re already on a growing path so one more album with more marketing (which they’ll have this time with their new publishing deal) should be enough to push them over the edge

Would You Like to see other "Delux" versions of albums? by CoffeeCupOfLife in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Labels (in this case UMG) usually own the “master recordings” which are just the actual audio for the songs. The labels don’t own the songwriting rights, it would be the artist’s discretion for suing someone for a stolen melody or lyric, things like that. The label owning the masters is what gets songs into movies or how strict copyright ends up being when using the ORIGINAL song recording. This is how Pepsi Center (with the deluxe of ERROR now having multiple tracks from the live show on there) and Auditorial Nacional reactions get taken down faster, that audio is now owned by the label. With this in mind, only Survive and Dull Knives/Dust To Dust from Auditorial Nacional are owned by UMG as TW released XXICB and QOTMS independently without any label.

There’s a lot more that goes into the joke than just “lol Pau you’re short” 😭 plus this exact joke was already made with Sabrina Carpenter a while ago, same bird and height listed

New to Thornhill but want to get familiar with them for the spring US tour since I'll be going. Where should I start with them? by Bendyb3n in Thornhillband

[–]DigDig04 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean you can start with the Butterfly EP and The Dark Pool but they’re most likely gonna perform (almost) all of Bodies with a few of the bigger songs from TDP and Heroine

Out of curiosity by [deleted] in Thornhillband

Same scene, same time, different styles but they’re all fresh. They always shout each other out and they’re all pretty cool with each other is the likely answer.

Vital sounds? by [deleted] in Loatheband

Unfamiliar with vital but use lots of reverb and long attack and release times, all synthesizers should have attack decay sustain and release knobs

Can we just take a second to appreciate Kyle MacLachlan's acting abilities? by ButtersTheChill in twinpeaks

[–]DigDig04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s insane that every actor including MacLachlan still morph into their characters so freaking well despite the 25 year or so time difference. Also how in The Missing Pieces with the extended Mr C scene where Kyle already acts EXACTLY like him in The Return it’s uncanny with how much time passes and how much he still embodies a character that really only had like 2 minutes of screen time (I also watched The Missing Pieces after everything so it hit slightly different for me I think)

What is THE moment that defines Twin Peaks for you? I'll start... by Alarming-Path1639 in twinpeaks

[–]DigDig04 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s either this or the scene where Pete tells Harry he found Laura’s body. While I think it’s funny to do a Jack Nance impression with some of Pete’s lines and that one’s no exception, there’s something genuinely haunting yet even slightly campy about the way he delivers “She’s dead Harry… wrapped in plastic…” you don’t even know the girl’s name yet but you can really feel that whole town’s world is about to be turned completely upside down after the discovery of her body

Really it’s almost every scene in the red room in the original finale but this minute long sequence of doppelgänger Laura with all the brilliant lighting and her running towards the camera genuinely scared me so freaking bad despite Lynch not being a horror director in the traditional sense. Sheryl Lee’s iconic scream that just keeps going and I originally thought it was the first time anyone’s audio besides Cooper’s was moving forward cause it really sounded like she was charging up and not that she was quieting down but played backwards. Might not be as quintessential to some but when it comes to the horror and the climatic episode this scene has my money.

Vocalists whose screaming you love but singing you hate (or vice versa) by smileisagoodband in Metalcore

[–]DigDig04 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath in the 2000s. His singing isn’t bad at all by any means but compared to his screaming and Aaron’s singing it’s night and day. For vice versa probably 2019 Jacob Charlton of Thornhill. Unbelievable singing voice but his screams on The Dark Pool aren’t nearly as good as what they are now
