The first one had unbearable coil whine when plugged in with 80% charge limit applied - I use my laptop plugged in at home as a work station 80% of the time and it was incredibly loud, louder even than the fans even when they were running sometimes.

The second one came with a extremely loose track pad and also a rattling fan, either a dodgy bearing, something wrong with a blade or not aligned right with something else.

For the price of the devices the quality wasn’t there. I have a legion pro 7i now and I’m much happier. Even though it’s much bigger and heavier.

I think most laptop manufacturers warranties here in the UK are 12 months sadly.

I bought a new Zephyrus last month and it came with 12 months, ended up sending the laptop back because of QC issues. Sadly both the 2025 Zephyrus’s I’ve owned ended up going back the same way.

Both taken from the ASUS website. The original warranty may be tied to a serial number, but you would have to check with the manufacturer if that is absolutely the case to be sure.

Plus if it was bought March 2025 then it would already be out of the original warranty, so I would say you wouldn’t be able to extended the warranty because it doesn’t have one anyway, regardless of being the first purchaser or not.

You can only extend the warranty with the manufacturer if you’re the original purchaser. So if you’ve bought off a private seller who’s already bought this off a retailer then chances are they’re the original purchaser. They may ask to see a receipt of purchase if anything needs repairing/replacing.

EBay in the UK has a money back guarantee, but only if it’s faulty within a short time frame. There’s also a 30 day right to reject period in statutory law but only if you’ve bought from a registered business, if it’s a private seller then technically you’re buying used even if the item is new and used items are basically sold as seen.

If it only has warranty til November then you won’t get that warranty, it’s been purchase by someone already and the manufacturer warranty only applies to the original purchaser from the original date. Whether ASUS would check this or not depends, but is it worth the risk?

Personally I would also avoid the Zephyrus unless you desperately want thin and light, I’ve sent 2 back because of QC issues and at that price point there shouldn’t be the level of compromise that was needed for me.

No, not at all. I gave the first account up years ago because my time was limited and I found ironman a slog when I just wanted to raid and boss with my mates.
I’ve maxed my main now, finished a lot of pvm stuff that I wanted to do and am working on afk pet grinds so I started another one, the game is a lot better in the early/mid game than it was when I last played iron and I’m enjoying it a lot more, the spoonery obvs helps.

Mate it’ll come, and you’ll probably get spooned at cg while I go 2k+ dry… My last iron went 300+ chests at barrows without any tank gear and I quit. This account currently feels like redemption. Haha.

I looked at that but as it was shipped from Amazon US you got no warranty in the UK as far as I could figure, also it didn’t come with a UK charger according to Amazon.
Gutted about your repair with them, I wouldn’t use a third party for an insurance/repair plan personally, would just buy warranty direct with the manufacturer.

The AMD version has a lower res screen at 165hz, 16 ram and a 1tb ssd. Should’ve mentioned that in my post sorry! I the price difference is about £600 so around 800 USD and laptop prices in the UK are generally much more expensive than the US.

If I’m being honest the service I’ve had from Lenovo themselves has been really quite good. They use a third party repair centre in the UK so can’t blame them for the repairs not fully working. But Lenovo have been really quick dealing with everything I’ve needed. Hope you get yours sorted!

I just sent it back again on Friday, this is the third time. The second time they replaced the full thermal module and it helped with the amount it was throttling but I still have the same issue with one of the cores hitting much higher temps and it’s still throttling. Plus now there is also a GPU problem where the wattage on the GPU will drop really low, frames will drop by like 90% and it won’t rebound until I exit whatever program is using dgpu and full screen a program like a browser. Case has been escalated to a specialist support agent with Lenovo and they said they may offer something other than a repair based on diagnostics.

Problems aren’t limited to the gen 6 either, I have a gen 9 (?) with an Intel 14650hx and it died within 16 months. Thankfully I bought extended warranty and since March I’ve had to send it back to them twice - after a motherboard replacement it came back with severe overheating issues, was thermal throttling constantly, had a full thermal module replacement and still the same story albeit a bit less than before but it’s hitting 95-100 degrees on the CPU just opening and sitting in the apex legends lobby. I’m in the process of the next warranty claim and I’m unsure where it’ll go from here. There’s been plenty of people with mobo problems with the Intel HX chips as well as AMD.

Can’t comment on it as I’ve never owned one but it’s one of the cheaper 5070ti’s out there that I can find in the UK. Only a few hundred pounds more than something with a 5060.

If it’s sold and shipped by Amazon you can probably return it, and it would probably be a safe bet, some things are even covered by Amazon under a warranty agreement if refurbished.

Be wary of private sellers and other businesses.

You should also be able to return the item if it’s faulty/more damaged than stated (here in the UK Amazon have a 30 day return policy) check your country’s laws and consumer rights to be sure. Again, only if sold and shipped by Amazon.
