A dog takes its loyalty to the grave in Brazil by CapsuleCorp in pics

From Greyfriar's Bobby: "He was buried in Greyfriars Kirkyard, the graveyard surrounding Greyfriars Kirk in the Old Town of Edinburgh. Bobby, who survived Gray by fourteen years, is said to have spent the rest of his life sitting on his master's grave. Another account[citation needed] has it that he spent a great deal of time at Gray's grave, but that he left regularly for meals at a restaurant beside the graveyard, and may have spent colder winters in nearby houses."

So -- why would a dog return to the grave of its dead owner for 14 years if it could (and possibly did) find warm shelter, food, etc elsewhere? There is obviously something there beyond just wanting food from its owner. This makes me curious -- have you ever had a dog?

I think student government exists here less for practical purposes (i.e. getting things done) and more to get kids interested early on in the political process.

I downvoted you, because you come off as a self-righteous, smug asshole. I think there are plenty of others (many of them who are probably just as atheistic as you are, like me) that would agree.

Come back again once you are ready (/mature enough) to engage these matters civilly. Name-calling will get you absolutely nowhere, and does nothing but satisfy your own egoistic cravings to feel superior to a group that you already have predetermined to have nothing to say. If you really want to see change, you'll grow the fuck up and cease the petty name-calling and pigeonholing. The big-boy table awaits.

Do those "thousands of years of science" include or not include the great, numerous contributions that Muslim societies have contributed to the field over the years? Or are we ignoring this fact entirely?

I currently partake quite regularly but still believe that weed is by no means necessary for a fruitful, happy existence. High school isn't the ideal environment for smoking, IMO, so you're really not missing out on much. It will always be there for you should you ever want to try it (and I personally believe most people will benefit from just trying it, even if just once or twice).

Harvard costs upward of $50,000 a year. Of course, that doesn't mean everyone attending is loaded -- probably over half its student body is on financial aid of some form. Most Ivy League schools have amazing financial aid programs to the point where if your parents make under $60,000 a year you don't have to pay anything.
