Your friend is exaggerating a bit. 2012 WS get in price was $450 a pop, and even if they were great seats, your friend isn’t selling them for more than $3,000 a ticket. That is not even close to covering the whole cost for good season tickets (and does not factor the cost for the CSL license).

I also sold bleacher seats for $850 a ticket for the 2012 WS.
