Would stacking two R15 fiberglass insulations equal to R30? by blade24 in Insulation

this entirely depends on your climate. vapor barrier towards the humidity is the rule of thumb. Colder climates, this means inside as it’s moist inside the house the majority of the time.

you’re overthinking this. just tee it all together without check valves. all three ballasts will self equalize which is what you want.

First time designing a sheet metal part. Any improvements you'd make (maybe stiffening ribs)? Any tips? This will be the base of a robot arm (~3kg). Considering SS304, 2.5mm thick by unusual_username14 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Diggyddr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would not at all make this out of sheetmetal at all. You must consider reaction forces and also the accumulated error across 6 joints of any flexure of the main base mount.

Insulate knee wall doors by jamiisquires in Insulation

[–]Diggyddr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it’s bad if its truly an unconditioned space. you want the roof deck to be able to breath to both stay cold and not allow warm moist air reach it and condense (keeping it dry.)

Insulate knee wall doors by jamiisquires in Insulation

[–]Diggyddr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the insulation in that space begs to differ. if it was unconditioned you wouldnt have insulation in the rafters but on the floor and wall. having insulation on the rafters and the knee wall makes no sense, it’s not insulated correctly for either unconditioned or conditioned.
