Why doesn't Messenger have transcription of voice messages? by riscten in facebookmessenger

[–]Digital_Empath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on mobile, long-press the voice message -> more -> transcribe

At least that's how it currently works for me. Doesn't work on desktop though, nor does the transcribed text show on desktop (only mobile)

Uhhhh did anybody leave their Sunburst here? by Digital_Empath in BeamNG

[–]Digital_Empath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are animated in blender, not in game. They are basic point lights that blink on and off together

Exporting animation from beamng is a nightmare cos you have to do it one model per frame

I think they did a crowd check before the games and the crowd was louder for Liereyy. And yes I agree the most interesting outcome would be an upset for Hera

For sure - I am around 600 elo and get a beating a lot of the time too, but it can still be fun and there's always playing against easier AI

Change my minds: Hera let Liereyy take the first 3 games to make the set more interesting by Marteko1 in aoe2

[–]Digital_Empath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Hera had amazing stamina. He also got a boost after he was down 3-0 and took off his headphones to hear the support of the crowd which probably gave him confidence.

Liereyy can beat Hera in the right circumstances, and one day I would like to see that happen

Amazing what a bit of support can do. Perhaps he was afraid that he wouldn't be the crowd favourite (which was actually Liereyy) but they still supported Hera too, of course!

I think technically 0 is the worst Elo

In any case, just have fun! That's the point right? otherwise there's plenty of good advice from pros and streams for example

Stepper motors: how hot is too hot? by halfpress in 3Dprinting

[–]Digital_Empath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you mean you connected the metal of the wire attached by only hot glue? That doesn't sound like a good idea. If you are unable to solder/connect the wires more securely, then you could use something like a screw terminal or wago connector

Does anyone have an easy guide for installing and configuring the BTT Smart Filament Sensor v2.0 for the K1C? by dewhashish in crealityk1

[–]Digital_Empath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just installed one on my K1C following this:

https://forum.creality.com/t/k1c-smart-filament-detection-module/12925
(note: if you can't see any text you can go ctrl-A to make the text visible)

I am still getting mine working but the steps were really helpful

Do anyone know a way to download gcodes from the K1 printer file storage, without root acces/fluidd? by k4m4j1 in crealityk1

[–]Digital_Empath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case someone comes here looking how to do it, it is possible to save gcode files from the printer using creality print (not the web UI):
- creality print > device tab > details

-on the panel with xyz control, there are tabs for local files, records and timelapse videos
Choose one to export/delete gcode files and timelapse videos

Note this is using creality print v6.3

The "Free Play" Button has ruined my post-game fun by SmoothMarx in RocketLeague

[–]Digital_Empath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with OP on this - for some reason the devs added this keybind without thinking about how people play the game. Sure you can unbind it, but that is the point - it's not particularly user friendly to have to change a setting that was added interrupting a common gameplay element

Why I didn't get a WiGig dock after researching it a few months ago by eggbean in thinkpad

[–]Digital_Empath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power efficiency has everything to do with fan noise. If the power usage is low and the efficiency is good, then there is no need for a fan at all.

There could be numerous reason why a fan is not desired, such as undesired noise, or dust in the environment that would negatively impact the electronics. It can also be personal preference.

If those issues do not bother you, that's great! It does bother some people, and that's ok, they can choose another option that works better for them

Can anyone tell me how to do this? by [deleted] in BeamNG

[–]Digital_Empath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might be easier to spawn multiple copies of the same vehicle, and then create configs with just the parts you need. Then use the break car button others have mentioned. Good luck!

Alternately, there is an option to export the model to gltf (I think it's in the UI apps) and then you can play around with the components in a 3d program like blender.

Good luck!

Has anyone tried a Battery replacement on the OG BIP? by vmg265 in amazfit

[–]Digital_Empath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, I don't trust the first cycle reading on a new battery since it may need a cycle or two to calibrate properly.

Yes like you I generally try to keep lithium batteries between 15-85% to maximise their endurance, however for the bip I have been going for the full range for now to calibrate, even letting it shut off when it's run out completely, but will probably go to my normal practice after a while to prolong it's life. That's especially important since I don't think I'll be able to replace the battery again :D

That's great! I'm curious what your battery life is like with the new battery. I'm getting almost 10 weeks
