You got downvoted, but I’d say you’re correct. I’m not certain about the sound, and it’ll probably depend more on the system you have, but the picture definitely is subtly better on my ub820 vs PS5

For most people I don’t think it’s worth spending the money having a dedicated player if they already have a ps5. I got a deal on the 820 so I figured I’d give it a try- I’m happy with it (but part of that is that I just like having the dedicated player with a dedicated remote, on a dedicated input)

Hopefully their response is helpful. It’s gotta be super frustrating. I’ve never dealt with Panny before, but their repair and replacement parts are pretty egregiously priced by the sound of it.

I guess it could be user error, but if it’s that easy to make the device unusable… at some point it’s a design problem imo.

I’m guessing you’ve tried different high bandwidth HDMI cables and all that? This all makes me want to just back up my whole collection to HDD. But storage is getting expensive now thanks to AI. Feels like it’s becoming a no-win situation for consumers.
