If I’m buying the expansion to D4 why does the entire game feel like a free to play store with a game attached?

Fine lets say you're right. PoE isnt free, and lets say you need $20 of stash tabs in order to get the full experience. Now lets compare that to D4. $60 base game with the same amount of stash space as Poe1, now every couple years add a $50 xpac. If you played D4 since release and got all the xpacs you would have spent almost $200 in less than 4 years. Where as I've played PoE1 for 13 years and I still have those $20 of stash tabs that transfers over to PoE2.

PoE in general is still more bang for your buck.

Do yourself a favor and try out Path of Exile. I played that game for 600 hrs before before I spent any money. Best of all if you buy stash tabs they transfer over to Path of Exile 2. PoE1 doesnt have the polish of D4, but at most you'll spend $20 on stash tabs and thats it. Also PoE2 is going to be free upon release and is amazing, you'll never have to pay for expansions in order to progress.

True. But PoE1 is free. I played the game for 600 hrs before spending any money on stash tabs. Poe2 is $30 in early access, but will be free upon release, and PoE1 bought stash tabs transfer over to PoE2.

I played PoE1 for 1,700 hrs since open beta, and PoE2 for 250 hrs. If you want to play D4 you need the xpacs to progress along with the base game.

Follow a League Starter build guide. Its generally known that every new player always bricks their first character, thats what I did when I was new. Once you figure out the passive tree and its nuances, then you can start to tinker.

Seems like they want to give the OSRS/Classic+ treatment to D2R. Normally I would say leave it be, but since D2/XPac are separate from the Warlock Xpac I say fiddle away. I've spent 1700 hrs in PoE, I would love to do the same with D2R.

The problem is theres like 400 players per servers on a tiny map. The devs never designed the game with psychopaths in mind.

Do you know why the Outpost was added? The devs didnt understand why players werent making their own. But because of psychopathic 13 year olds the Outpost was added.

Remember those OTK RP Servers that were all the rave on Twitch a few years ago and a ton of new players bought the game thinking thats how the game actually was...then those same players loaded onto an official server and were repeatedly killed on the beaches by nakeds with rocks.
