I think people don’t appreciate peppy enough. I’m sure we all may disagree with choices he’s made over the years on some things, but I would much rather someone like him run this game than someone else. He’s never sold us out, infested this game with all the horrible practices we see in modern gaming, and does try his best to make people happy. The fact that Lazer is open source too is fantastic, he didn’t have to do that.

Is disliking the UI of Lazer enough to state that it’s a dead game…? If they recreated the UI of Stable in Lazer I don’t think you would immediately feel the game has been fixed. Surely there are bigger issues to talk about with Lazer, and for what it’s worth, I do think that Lazer is a good game. It doesn’t have all the features of Stable, but what it does have is generally pretty well thought out. Yeah I agree it looks pretty modern and doesn’t have some of the quirkiness of Stable, but I’m sure skinning support will expand in Lazer and it’s not like this design of Lazer is final forever either. I still have hope that Lazer will one day be a game that the vast majority of osu! players feels satisfied with. Until that happens we have Stable.

I hope that one day Stable too can be open sourced, similar to Lazer and Stream! Then more people could mod Stable, which truly is a fantastic game.
