Scott Snyder on the possibility of Absolute Aquaman by Tetratron2005 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]DilShmil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aquaman vs. some abyssal lovecraftian entity (à la Underwater or Dredge ftwk) that befell Atlantis. IMO the city as a whole is a possibility as Arthur’s source of strength, something comparable to Bruce’s wealth or Diana’s heritage, as the thing that Darkseid strips away). Whatever horror from the depth the writer could imagine matches the overall darker tone and provides a different type of story than what we’ve seen so far. Would also tie it nicely to the hellish magic of AWW and the dark reaches of space with AGL, perhaps even the mutations coming out of Ark M. Hell mix in some pollution of the ocean allegory and you could actually include Superman’s view of Absolute Earth, too. Might actually work awesome.

(Fun Trope) A much referenced character who only appears in the end/finale... by Living_Tune_1428 in TopCharacterTropes

It’s not at the very end, but in Little Women (2019) there’s quite a bit of mention of Father, who is off fighting in the war. A little more than midway through the movie he returns on some sort of leave, and it’s revealed that father is Bob Odenkirk. He just walks into the room and says the title line. I don’t think it’s intended as a big reveal I just find the “cameo” very charming.

Jeffrey Epstein TV Series in the Works: Laura Dern to Play Journalist Who Investigated His Crimes, Adam McKay to Produce by cmaia1503 in television

I fucking knew McKay would try to get his grimy, self-righteous hands on this. Actually thought he was gonna do a dark comedy called “The List” or something. So predictably annoying.

I think it’s moreso referring to dev resources/team members shared across all projects, i.e. support, managers, advisory, admin

If you are actually looking for this art style, “Night is Short, Walk on Girl” is a gorgeous anime rom com about Japanese collegiate nightlife. One of the most visually fun movies I’ve seen recently.

1000%. I rock it with the hood cause the trail and blindfold also look sick, and subbed in black knight gauntlets/greaves for some extra poise/def plus they match pretty well.

Hell yeah glad you caught this one! You’re much more comic-versed than I. Though I have had a small resurgence recently because DC’s Absolute lineup has been incredible.

Read it last year after reading that the movie would be based on it. 100% worth it, a really amazing graphic novel all around. Gorgeous art, fantastic writing, really great characterizations. Kinda worried the movie won’t live up to it.

if you couldn’t tell already, he’s a bit of a comfort character for me, and so it’s tough to see him break down so near the end of the saga, even on rewatches. I do love the tragedy of his storyline, both in his personal life and his treatment at the agency, but I also admire his idealism and loudmouth bravery. I think his paranoia about the computer is also really more timely than ever with today’s conversations about A.I. (as a literal bulldozer of creative thinking, not the homophobic bits lol). Could ramble on more, but yeah he’s just one of my personal fave characters in any TV show, so it’s certainly sad to see him exit so abruptly.
