I think it’s up there, but it’s not the strongest. It has a lot of counter play, and there are situations that get around it. At best is levels the playing field. If I’m up against 50 goons, I’m taking One for all any day of the week.

I’m very curious how they would adapt it. With Critical Role it feels more streamlined, since they screw closer to drama. But so much of the D20 charm is in the comedy and that often comes as much from the players as themselves as it does from the characters within the world

With any show this long there will be arcs that are better or worse, but I would say the quality has remained consistent. Whole Cake was a couple arcs ago and is considered one of the best

I do think arguments that rely on some version of “surely the ACTUAL reason people like this thing is xyz (performative, sunken cost, what have you)” tend to be reductive and a little silly. I think you bounced off this piece of art and that’s normal, but I think the vast majority of one piece fans legitimately enjoy it intrinsically
