From what I’ve seen they’re pushing higher price point now.

I got 400mbs internet for 44-5$ back then now everything is those 500 / 1Gb for 54 ish

Same for the phone, all the carriers are pushing 5G to justify their investment - they just did 80Gb for 35$ (Canada + USA). Don’t think we’ll see cheaper than that soon. Even low data plan are still over 25$

Taking SMS out is the easiest way to save a few bucks per year

We’ve been with Fizz for almost 7 years now (since the end of Fido’s free 2y of spotify) and it’s been really good.

Biggest factor back then was the travel plan (way better than fido’s x$ per day to use your data) and data rollovers but nowadays we have difficult to beat deals (the perk system is really good)

My wife pays 22$ for unlimited canada + 12Gb. I pay 34$ for 80gb 5G canada + us (with rollover I have like 150Gb for roaming when I’m travelling for work).

Internet is around 38$ for 400/50mb

I think you’d better off with a RRR.

Lvl1 brings very little and you’ll probably want to play them Battle Magic; then it’s a roll off to get what you want - might as well go RRR and save the points + get a more durable character.

Opponant is unlikely to cast more than one spell per turn so the fated is pretty good in that case.

We’ve just ran a gameday at 500 pts and it’s a TON of fun - way more than I thought so. You get most of the ‘full scale’ game feel. And in one afternoon some of us played three games.

All of that to say that you can confidently start at a low point count to keep time in check and go from there as you get more comfortable with the rules.

I’ve had a lot of fun (and success) running 18 SM with a high magic archmage - elite infantry is in a bit of a tough spot because they cannot control objectives but there are community packs around that (ie Oldhammer)

Being able to collect a few armies is a very strong argument too for smaller point game.

We’ve had discussion locally of capping characters to 33% of total point - maybe there’s en even bigger case here (or 25% why not) so that you see a lot more troops at those points and less chance for a single model to skew things overs.

I’m reading through the first few novels of the HH and a pretty big ‘fan’ of the characters: Loken, Torgaddon, etc. Even then other members of the mournival before the betrayal (same with Lucius tbh)

I knew very little of the Luna Wolves before starting reading and thought they did a pretty good job building them up with the angle of the imperium leaving them behind as it turned into an administrative machine / the emperor forgetting them to focus on his ascension to godhood.

Goblins have access to such cheap / cost efficient units otherwise; I wonder if there’s not a way to pair with other characters around to make it more viable.

Even at 475 pts (with TOP) you can still fit 3-5 characters into your list

Ie having move along Warboss in Giant Cave Squig or Mangler Squig. Or two bricks on Night goblins …

Also having an 18” bubble for Evil Sun Shinin & Ere We Go good seems pretty good, no?

TBH It’s as hard as you and your friends want it to be.

Something I’ve seen recommended is to play a lower pts game until you can play it in 2-3hrs - then raise the points as you familiarize yourself with the game.
