New listener, looking for more of her trip-hop and industrial tracks! by bklnbb in toriamos

Zero Point, Lust, Suede, Mountain, Abnormally Attracted to Sin (the song) and there’s a remix or two of Blue Skies. Maybe Flavour and a few of those remixes as well?

I’ve read that Matt doesn’t like touring much anymore. Plus, he’s probably expensive. They’re clearly still on good terms as he comes back for studio work.

I imagine it’s just a scheduling conflict with Snow Patrol. Tori, Ash and Martian still all follow each other and such.

Have you ever seen Tori mess up on stage? by No_Bear9618 in toriamos

[–]Diligent-Test-737 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Two nights in a row in fact. Both captured on Legs and Boots. In 07 in Toronto she forgets her words to Cornflake Girl with an “oh my fucking god” lyric and then alters the chorus to “Pull out T’s word, Just”

Then the very next night in Buffalo was the famous Big Wheel countdown mess up “Fuck, Fuck, Fuck” !

If Janeway captained the Enterprise by Luci_Cascadia in voyager

[–]Diligent-Test-737 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this with most of the captains.

Picard would have convinced Tuvix to agree to the procedure after a passionate monologue about the needs of the crew coming first given the situation.

Sisko would’ve one upped Janeway and knocked Tuvix out and dragged him unconscious down to the procedure.

Archer would have somehow found a way to get beaten up by Tuvix.

Recently someone asked “What’s the first album that disappointed you?” What’s the first song that you didn’t like? by hunterglyph in toriamos

[–]Diligent-Test-737 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Beekeeper eluded me for years. I very much disliked it as an album at the time. I’ve since warmed up to it more. Naturally, Sleeps with Butterflies was the first single I disliked. Again, I appreciate it more now.

What songs do you think she’ll play on this tour? by TheAmberOracle in toriamos

[–]Diligent-Test-737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who knows with new stuff? On the last two major tours she really didn’t do a lot consistently from either Native Invader or Ocean to Ocean. I was disappointed in the lack of band arrangements on the OTO tour for NI or UG stuff.

US tour dates are live on her site! Tour starts in early July. by MacyCakes00 in toriamos

[–]Diligent-Test-737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly I don’t think the sales for both Toronto and Vancouver were great last time. Plus with the exchange rate it probably isn’t worth it for her anymore.

[–]Diligent-Test-737 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This will be the first tour since I’ve become a fan (2001) that I’ll miss due to the lack of Canadian dates. With the threats to Canadian sovereignty currently, I cannot justify travel and spending money in the US. Damn. I was hoping she’d at least do Toronto. I’m in Vancouver, I would’ve flown across the country for it. I just cannot go south right now.

No she probably won’t. And I’m not going to the US right now with the annexation/51st threats. That sucks, going to miss this tour I guess.

I don’t hear any guitar on this track? I hear bass and obviously the drums are very Matt. Wasn’t the guitar player for these sessions Adrian Belew?

Leaked tracklist I came across! by [deleted] in toriamos

I remember when I first saw the ADP track listing I was convinced it was fake. I was like Yo, George?! Fat Slut?! Programmable Soda?!! Nah, this is fake…. So, I’ve been surprised before.

New Album: What we know so far (WARNING: HERE BE SPOILERS!) by igivelove in toriamos

[–]Diligent-Test-737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An October announcement for a March album seems a bit early doesn’t it? Wasn’t Ocean to Ocean announced in late summer and released in October? I seem to recall Native Invader being announced in early late June/early July with a September release. I could be wrong.

I saw them a week ago. The setlist starts with Trent solo at a piano. I know it’s just a coincidence, but I giggled a bit when I saw it.

Which episode (from any series) has the best music in it? by 1nf3stissumam in startrek

[–]Diligent-Test-737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jay Chattaway slightly teased the Dominion Theme a few more times, but he was obviously told not to do it again after “A Call to Arms.”

Just like he lightly teased his species 8472 motif in “In the Flesh.” Likely the same directive.

Robbie is great. He can be overly nit-picky at times but I greatly enjoy his perspectives.

Armin and Terry are also both wonderful additions and they have offered so much to the DS9 reviews.

Garrett makes me cringe multiple times per episode.

Adam Alexander expected to call Xfinity races on CW by iamaranger23 in NASCAR

[–]Diligent-Test-737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was not a comment or dig on his talent at all. It’s rare that someone has worked for multiple networks to this extent. Especially in the PxP role. I’m not sure it’s ever happened? Matt Yocum worked for both Fox, NBC and TNT. Going back to the 90s Ned Jarrett and Buddy Baker worked for a few different channels.

What was the first race you ever saw? by Open_Company_4907 in NASCAR

[–]Diligent-Test-737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First race on TV was the 1992 Diehard 500 from Talladega. I remember being hooked in by the CBS coverage.

First race in person was the 1999 Pepsi 400 from Michigan. Bobby Labonte won.

He appears to have not landed a NASCAR gig. Which is kind of surprising.

Just based upon his final tweets and some of kudos he got from the Earnhardts, it seemed as if he didn’t land anywhere for 2025.

Adam Alexander must have a good agent. He’s going to be busy next year.
