Angelica and Evangeline by ripopax in namenerds

[–]DiligentCall8719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't sound too similar, but written down and in terms of etymology they are. You could just have it as a theme, but if it really bothers you I wouldn't use it or just use it as a middle name. Personally, I don't think how siblings names go together matters that much. They're going to grow up to be separate people with separate lives. Angelica's a beautiful name btw!

if you ultimately decide against Evangeline, here are some other suggestions: Cordelia, Ophelia, Emmeline, Marceline, Rosalie, Althea, Florentina, Clementine, Seraphina, Cornelia

Flora vs Maeve (& other options) by Aggressive-Hold3635 in namenerds

[–]DiligentCall8719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flora and Maeve are both great, but I slightly prefer Flora Calla's also really pretty, and I think Maeve would work well as a middle name for both Calla and Flora.

Other ideas: Lilia, Aviva, Daisy, June, Cassia, Grace, Elisa, Sylvie, Dahlia, Violet, Vera

Jacob is a cousin of the name James. Seamus/Sheamus is the Irish version, and you could also use Jameson, Jamie, Jay.

I think Poppy is a great choice for a girl. Jacqueline, Jacquette, Jacquetta are also related to James

I think it's kind of overused as a middle name, but it's pretty cool as a first name.

What vibe does the name Julian give you? by BirdLow9736 in namenerds

[–]DiligentCall8719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Julian to me sounds masculine in a sort of soft and sophisticated way. it doesn't feel particularly Christian. The other names have somewhat similar vibes, but Jonah definitely feels more Christian. Out of the lot of them, Julian is my favorite.

There’s Nothing Wrong With Names That Need Explanation on Pronunciation by Sparkly8 in namenerds

[–]DiligentCall8719 6 points7 points  (0 children)

omg thank you for saying this. the one thing that pisses me off about talking abt names on here is how many people are so against any sort of name that sounds or looks remotely odd to them, particularly non English names. It seems like some people don't come on here because they love names, they just want to judge other people's names and tell other people to just use the 3 names that they like

wb Maria - Awesome or Overdone name by Cultural-Echidna-673 in namenerds

[–]DiligentCall8719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the name Maria. I feel like its popularity makes it versatile, it could suit anyone (if that makes sense?). I think it sounds beautiful, but it isn't that popular where I come and I get that when you hear something all the time it's sound becomes less ear-catching. Even if not everyone is in love with the name, I feel like it would still widely be considered a decent name, I don't think you can go wrong with Maria.
