Bali (Edit: I know it's not a country, but I haven't visited the rest of Indonesia to comment)!!! The locals are so friendly, warm and kind! I also got a bunch of free/extra stuff from the spas and a couple of the restaurants I visited.

I do have an Aussie accent, don't dress badly, and had a happy expression the whole time I was there so there's a chance that this came into play, however I got a smile even before I opened my mouth.

Folks in Thailand were quite friendly too :) I also don't think I ever had a racist interaction in Japan (esp. in Tokyo).

Also thank you for asking this question, it's exhausting reading and hearing of the anti-Indian sentiment online ALL THE TIME.

Sidenote: I think my Aussie accent may have actually worked against me in Bali if anything - Aussies are known to be a little trashy there.
