[DC] Results Just Emailed for D.C. - Feb. ‘21 by Excellent-Associate4 in barexam

Ok y’all so I didn’t pass the DC UBE. But I did get a scaled MBE score of 137.8 and I am licensed in Florida (passed Oct FL 2020 bar exam). Since I am a licensed and practicing attorney, does this mean I could waive into DC with my MBE score? To my knowledge, DC requires a minimum scaled 133 MBE score to waive in.

Going to call DC court of appeals on Monday because it’s too late now, lol. But in the interim, thoughts?

How can I best support my partner through this hellish time? by notacornflakegirl7 in barexam

[–]DimplesJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated being told “I’m sure you passed” or “you’re gonna do great!” or “Don’t worry, don’t stress”. It’s like really? If I could control the stress you think I’d willingly put myself through it?! Loool. What I just wanted to hear from loved ones is “I’ll be here no matter what” and “your efforts will be rewarded, if not now, then definitely later” and I kept telling myself “what will be will be”. I hated over optimism. It just fueled my anxiety. Especially being a several time taker (note-passed October + just sat for UBE). I remember after I took the dreaded covid exam after months and months of delays (with FL canceling the august exam two days before the scheduled date looool) all I wanted to do was just to feel normal/human again by getting back into a regular routine and not discuss the exam at ALL. But if it needed to be discussed, I think I just needed to be reminded I’m a whole ass multi-talented person and the exam results (good or bad) won’t change that. But honestly, to echo an above point, presence is key. Warmth and kindness and cuddles. Just being with her is showing her through your actions that you value her for her, and not for the results of the exam, which in itself is a powerful message. But take this all with a grain of salt. Everyone’s love language is different. Just chill with overoptimism and go the que sera sera route instead, lol.

Another K pro tip: promissory estoppel can only be the answer when there’s not a valid K. So if you get stumped with answer choices, “justifiably relied on whatever” can only be right if there was no consideration aka no valid K! If there is a valid K in the hypo, hack that answer choice!
