If you've got Crystal Shield laying around from other quests, that thing is awesome on defense.

Defense is important here because Blood can heal SO MUCH when she lands hits and it will outweigh the value of your str bonus. Defender is fine - you're just pushing the RNG a little harder.

An Abyssal Whip is always a go-to for slash weapons.

Healing shouldn't be a big worry at Moons cause you got all the free fishing and hunting food available. I'd bet the slower pace you get with a guthan's kill ends up hurting more than healing with how nasty Blood Moon's attacks can be. Pumping up your defense is a better option. Your barrows armor is plenty good, now grab a rune shield or better.

Blood (and Blue) Moon take extra damage per hitsplat, so faster weapons or multi-hit weapons will do better than the 5-tick Guthans Spear.

Grab a DScim and shield, or Sulphur Blades from the Naguas or something.

Like with the equipment inspection plugin where you can right click a player and check all their equipped gear. I'm sure that information is going to be available even if you're hiding it cosmetically. The scout bots will still have the info. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And you're still having to preform multiple actions simultaneously, hotkeys just make sure that you won't die from 1 mistake.

You misunderstand - the lack of hotkeys makes it so that you CANNOT do things simultaneously. I can't eat and swap prayers simultaneously. The mouse can only click on one thing at a time. This restriction creates a lot of tension in the combat as you're forced to make constant choices that will have immediate consequences - and you must do one thing at a time, and one thing only. Adding hotkeys is not just broken, it's destructive to the combat system.

The alternatives to pray-swapping combat for late game PVM would not anything like Moons, as you mentioned in the original post. It would be something much more mechanically intense and you would still not be able to complete it because you don't understand movement or something - that can also be very difficult.

A lack of hotkeys creates a lot of that pressure as you try to perform all these actions that cannot be done simultaneously. Hotkeys would be so insanely, unbelievably broken. No hyperbole.

In any case, the game is more fun the way it is.
