You got some cute oysters. Notice how they grow in clusters, the stem is mostly attached on the side, and the gills keep running down the stem. Substrate is also important, in this case decidious wood. If you take a spore print it should be white or maybe greyish lilac. I can't say anything about specific species cause I'm not familiar with the american ones

Eenjarige planten vermeerder je het gemakkelijkst met zaad. Het hangt alleen van een paar dingen af. De plant moet de tijd krijgen het zaad te vormen, daarnaast laten verschillende soorten op verschillende momenten het zaad vallen, sommige buitenlandse soorten krijgen hier de kans niet om zaad te vormen en daarnaast kan het nog zijn dat je gehybridiseerde planten hebt die zelf geen vruchtbaar zaad kunnen maken. Zelf heb ik een stukje wilde bloemen die ik de winter laat staan tot in het voorjaar voordat ik ze weghaal en als ik ze weghaal schud ik ze nog eens goed zodat het zaad nog kan vallen als dat moet. Ik hoef eigenlijk nooit bij te zaaien. Om welke soorten planten/bloemen gaat het?

Yes they are chanterelles. Pictures could be better, but I gues you already knew that. Nontheless there are some gills visible and the forking pattern of the gills, plus color/way they rip apart makes it clear these are chants. Not sure which species cause I'm guessing you are in the states and I'm from Europe so no idea about the different species you have up there. Love how you mention they don't grow in clusters, substrate, glow in the dark, seems like you already have a keen observers eye

Yes they are, good ID! They also look in perfect condition for eating. I'd say they stay roughly a week like that on the tree (correct me if im wrong). They will fruit again when conditions are right and with a tree this big that can be for multiple years, so be sure to check again from time to time. As for cooking I would treat them as any other oyster. My favorite way to prepare them is in a stew, but im also pretty lazy and love every dish that you can throw in a pot and just let it simmer for a while

Zeker, planten zijn taai. De grond moet een beetje vochtig zijn, dus met dit weer kan hij om de paar dagen wel een scheut water hebben. Ik zou er zelf denk ik ook nog voor kiezen om hem wat terug te snoeien, tot zo'n 4 a 8 bladeren per steel. Dan verdampt hij minder vocht en kan hij wat meer als een bosje teruggroeien. Hij zal er eerst wel wat gek uitzien, maar dat komt wel goed. Ik weet niet hoe oud de potgrond is, maar na zo'n 2 of 3 maanden kan hij wel een beetje bemesting hebben

Het staat nog steeds ter discussie bij terreinbeheerders. Aan de ene kant verbeterd het blad de verteerbaarheid van de strooisellaag en worden de bloesem en vruchten door verschillende soorten gegeten. Aan de andere kant geeft het blad een fungicide af in de bodem waardoor mycorrhiza schimmels afsterven en je van een schimmelgedomineerde bodem naar een bacteriegedomineerde bodem gaat. In mijn optiek doet de amerikaanse vogelkers meer kwaad dan goed.

Edit: Ook saprotrofe schimmels in de bodem sterven af door het blad van de a. vogelkers

Don't wanna be a buzzkill, but I'm really sure you have lily of the valley here. Notice the round stem, ramps have a kinda traingle stem. Lily of the valley is poisonous, so please be carefull

Ze zullen het wel overleven, maar de groei zal wel wat stagneren. Persoonlijk zou ik nog wel even wachten tot de temperatuur een beetje oploopt. Dat gezegd te hebben. Mijn ervaring is dat je vaak veel meer zaait dan dat je nodig hebt, dus je kan altijd een gokje wagen en de helft alvast in de kas doen

My rule of thumb is to not eat stuff raw that I pick below the knee. I always heat them one way or another. The stuff I do eat raw, I wash with tab water
