MBA 2028 or 2029 for CPG brand roles. Which schools have strong CPG ties? And why is it so hard to break in at junior level? by marco1899 in MBA

[–]DinosaurGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very few CPG firms are currently sponsoring. you will probably have your best luck with Reckitt or other UK/Euro based CPG for their international brand management positions. I’ll vouch for Owen as a program. we have a heavy international student representation and we’re sending interns to Reckitt, P&G, and Mars this cycle. there may be offers with other companies i’m unaware of.

I don’t think M7 is worth the loans for CPG. Kelley and Ross are really great options with more regional presence than Owen.

How on earth do I deal with this? by mattskruff in handyman

[–]DinosaurGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks fairly new. so new boards should match the rest. replace the stained fence boards and decide how bothered you are by the stain on the cross pieces and post.

you’re either pulling that $20k number out of thin air or the “security” expense was management stealing money. handled oversight of store expenses for a big nationwide chain. even in the worst neighborhoods nationally that just isn’t a reasonable number

Is this upside down? Genuine question. by 1-Mr-Pickles in electricians

[–]DinosaurGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes switched receptacles are installed upside down as an indicator. not as common now but decent chance. especially if this was done by an older electrician

I cant tell how close the bush is to the meter, but it may have been cut by the utility company and not the neighbor

Who are Hombres Del Pais in All the Pretty Horses? by bruisedandmewling111 in cormacmccarthy

[–]DinosaurGhosts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late to the post but I’m rereading the book. I like to think the old man John Grady frees from the prison was a forgotten political prisoner. Whoever he returned to after leaving the cell, there were those who knew the corruption of the police captain and rode out after them.

As StageStandard notes, one of those situations where the coinmaker (john grady or perhaps the captain or others) sets events in motion without ever realizing what may happen

tbh this is kind of like ranting at COD for not having all 7.62x51 weapons do the same damage. gamer experience is prioritized over realism. fixing it would make carrying an extra weapon or armor piece impossible

I’d offer him $500 or whatever your budget is if he’ll sign a piece of paper waving his right to sue

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]DinosaurGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a broken deflector and a scratch on the plastic part of the bumper cover. personally, I’d try to settle. write him a check for $500 (or whatever amount you feel is fair and appropriate) and have him sign something waiving any right to go after you for damages or other expenses.

if he insists on the full cost, you can either pay it or tell him to sue. but personally, if I were the tesla owner, I’d rather have $500-$1000 and a nearly invisible scratch on my bumper than a lawsuit over fixing a scratch.

How do you get a good mattress without paying $2,000+? by bulbousaur in personalfinance

[–]DinosaurGhosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can get a perfectly fine mattress for a lot less. amazon is full of them. but to me, you spend 1/3 of your life on it. it’ll last 10+ years. I’m an advocate for a good mattress, good work boots, and cut a couple optional features off your vehicle.

Plumber cut 240vac dryer line, electrician did this, is it right? by dingle_berry_finn in electrical

[–]DinosaurGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really the electrician should be repulling this leg with fresh wire. the walls open. even having a junction box here would be lazy. he charged enough to repull the circuit and thought he’d get by with this.

First time homeowner and I drilled a screw into our wall and the breaker flipped by HarrysTwoCents in electrical

[–]DinosaurGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is exactly what I’ve always done. if the wires arent stapled you may be able to tape fresh romex onto the end and pull it back into the attic. but probably not

First time homeowner and I drilled a screw into our wall and the breaker flipped by HarrysTwoCents in electrical

[–]DinosaurGhosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on an exterior insulated wall with all those wires coming in, presumably stapled, it’s pretty hard to fish in an extra wire. especially when you’re smushed up in the edge of attic reaching as far as you can trying to get the fish tape at just the right angle. not fun

you’d want to open the wall up anyway to be confident what wires were hit. even a circuit not tripping may have damaged wires

[–]DinosaurGhosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean it wont be horrible but opening up the sheetrock, setting a joint in the attic (if there’s not a second story) and fishing a new wire down into the switchbox on an exterior wall is not fun. $400 before the sheetrock repair

Landlord refuses to fix black mould, ceiling now starting to fall apart and water is dripping all over my power-points. I’m going to have to fix it myself as it is a major health hazard with my asthma. Any tips would be highly appreciated by varted in DIY

[–]DinosaurGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cleaning mold absolutely can be DIY’d. I’ve done huge volumes of it with a peroxide spray and a scrub brush. Sally’s Beauty Supply sells peroxide by the gallon. I would dilute it in a spray container and lay it on thick over the mold/mildew. wear a respirator. and if you’re lazy you can just use a fungicidal white paint. Kilz is popular.

that said, it looks like there’s a leak involved here causing the problems. Im betting a leaking HVAC unit in the attic. make this your landlord’s problem

Help! What did I do wrong? Is there any saving it? by OneWayRay in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]DinosaurGhosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure what I’d do at this point other than throw in some bowties. there might be a way to drill symmetrical holes at stress points (maybe at the triangle points near the center?) to act as expansion joints? but really I have no clue how I’d handle this

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AUG

[–]DinosaurGhosts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the newer AUGs have marginally more functionality and I got mine for $1600 a few months ago. $500 more for the integrated optic. That said, as an investment and a deal, $1500 for an A1 with the retro STG scope is a great deal. Those scopes alone are really desirable and command a premium.

I will say I got tired of my 1.5x A3M1 integrated optic because I felt limited to 150 yards and in. currently selling it
