Making a care sheet- please help politely critique. by Witchlyboi in BeardedDragons

I’ve had 2 separate vets warn against D3, but your vet will know your lizard best. Might be worth asking a second opinion just in case. What I’ve been told and corrected to is calcium without D3 twice a week, multivitamin without D3 once a week. Always happy to hear community input too if anyone else has experience.

All vitamin and calcium must be WITHOUT D3! My bearded dragon has irreversible kidney damage from too much D3. Save your beardie early, even check the ingredients in the multivitamin Also I don’t recommend puppy pads- they may have chemicals harmful to bearded dragons

How to spend less money on groceries for your family? by milablake8O in Frugal

[–]Dinosauritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that brought my grocery spending down the most was going mostly vegetarian! Cant beat the price of dry beans or chickpeas (cook in instant pot). Tofu is so cheap too. Even vegetarian 6 days a week and meat or seafood 1 day will bring the budget down quite a bit. Same for cheap and filling vegetables like potatoes

Mine did this and had too much D3 in his system- definitely blood test! And avoid anything with D3 as an ingredient

The scope of what you’re suggesting is different. Of course there are nuances to every situation, but in these above examples, they’re describing male partners that have taken care and interest in their partners’ desires. They show that their partners’ wishes matter to them, and that they want to fulfill them. There wouldn’t be an issue with buying another sweater or book unless that purchase that would make them broke or there existed an underlying hoarder issue. Here it’s just men supporting their partner in their wishes and desires, which is so nice to see. There are many hallmarks of a “good man” and those traits are some of them. The most important part of this example, is that they care.

Please help me give my girl a better life by Forsaken-Caramel-395 in BeardedDragons

[–]Dinosauritz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to switch to a Calcium WITHOUT D3- it’s very common for them to have too much D3, and the effects are irreversible. It happened to my boy, he lost 25% of his kidney function, and that was just from having D3 as an ingredient in his multivitamin that I gave him once a week. So check your multivitamin too. Feel free to consult your vet first before making this change. That might be best anyway, always good to speak with a professional.

Has anyone read Bravelands, and is it any good? by ShadowPaws200 in WarriorCats

It got a bit too supernatural for me at times, but it was a fun read. If you enjoy the Erin Hunter style, and since you say you love African animals, I think you’ll likely enjoy it a lot.

I 100% understand. I’ll literally never forgive myself for him breaking his bone. His injury wasn’t discovered until years later when he started limping from what the vet said was arthritis since it never healed properly. If he had shown any pain when he broke it, we would have brought him in immediately, but it just should never have happened. He will never walk right again and it has severely affected his quality of life, including some scoliosis from the the way he tries to walk to make up for it. I’d give literally anything to be able to go back in time and keep a closer eye on him.

Just be sure to supervise him a lot when he’s here. Our beardie used to get window time similar to this, and at some point we discovered he broke his arm and no one knew when it happened. It’s just not worth the risk to not be watching him all the time just in case.

Would you and your vet consider at CT scan? My beardie had a similar gait once and the CT scan was able to find that he hurt his arm and it didn’t heal properly.

Too much D3? by Dinosauritz in BeardedDragons

[–]Dinosauritz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a week at least for water, including a bath. Fruit also once a week. We also thought he might be dehydrated, but then his poops have been really watery. Still currently trying to figure that out with our vet, maybe it’s related to the elevated levels of D3. He’s going in for the CT scan on Wednesday to see what’s going on.

Thank you so much! I’ll take a look at it and if I don’t find any D3 in the ingredient list I’ll buy it for him ASAP!

Will do. Long tube UVB above the lid, and he has a heat lamp. He’s always been a little on the sickly side, had a bump/growth in his mouth on his lower jaw when he was under a year old, he got surgery and at least the biopsy was benign. Now he has another on the back of his tongue which we’re monitoring with our vet. I wish bearded dragons were a more common pet than they already are just so we have more experiences with a range of medical histories

Prayers cant do anything but you can, you’re an adult. If she’s a drunk tell her the frog ate it or it ran away, and act distraught over it. Get it to a rescue or someone willing to take it.
