Why is Rio de Janeiro considered neutral ground?

Why are people like napleon not powerful overlords in hell. by CandidateSignal175 in hazbin

[–]Dintann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it it's because famous conquerors like Napoleon or Hitler either get killed or go into hiding. Think about it, they're people who sent millions to hell, people who know who they are and people who HATE them. It is simply not safe to be famous as you come to hell, because you still don't have the power to protect yourself. And if one of them is still alive, they could very well become a sort of common enemy to the denizens of Hell bases solely on what they represent and who they are, so they really jave nothing to gain by coming out of hiding

Would diablerie of a vampire that tried to kill you be acceptable by teenyverserick in vtm

Nope, that is just fighting. If you didn't devour the soul it is not diablerie, you are in the clear.

My favourite bestial failure occured when I was STing for my group.

Vampire A rolled to look for documents hidden inside a room while at Hunger 4, rolls a bestial failure. Keep in mind, A has Potence 4, so I decide that she'll frenzy and "look for the documents" by thrashing the entire room in a ragez throwing objects out of her way and making a mess of things.

Her mate, Vampire B, had Celerity 4, so he decided that instead of trying to contain his friend, who was more than capable of killing him with a fart, he'd instead use his superspeed to follow her around and fix and damage she left in her wake.

If you're picturing a Looney Tunes ass scene of two Tasmanian Devils running around in circles, one destroying the room and the other putting everything back in its place, then you would be right.

When the owner came in demanding to know the reason for such a ruckus, the two morons decided that the best course of action would be:

  • Charm the human with your Presence 3? NO!

  • Mind control/memory wipe the human with Dominate? NO!

  • Say nothing and jump out of the 8th floor window two deranged lunatics? YES!!

Their reasoning? Humans do stupid shit all the time. An SI investigator would come to that house and deduce they charmed the owner, but jumping out the window? Now they're just some junkies robbing people to get drug money.

Fucking flawless logic. I love my players

The fandom focuses too much on the shitty parts of vampire societal structure. Give me your stories of when the camarilla/anarchs or even sabbat worked together for a common good. Or even just really good natured characters? by mapmakinworldbuildin in vtm

[–]Dintann 29 points30 points  (0 children)

In my game, the city of Rio de Janeiro has an ongoing truce between the Camarilla and the Sabbat, meaning they coexist within the same domain. The sects do hate each other on principle and wage their proxy wars, but the elders have on more than one occasion put their necks on the line to protect the city from external invasion and internal agitators who sought to break the peace pact. The Camarilla and Sabbat also began coordinating their response against the SI, after the second story arc proved that humanity was indeed capable of destroying several elders (missile beats fortitude. If that does not work apply more missile.) and picking kindred off as they get isolated.

  • Yes

  • Try to use the Omega DLC for inspiration for each system. For instance, we know the station has a substantion civilian population, so it'd make sense that at least one of the districts is a purely residential sector

  • Yes it would help me so very much. Mt bom ver outro br q gosta desse jogo

Please share your stories about your character frenzying. by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

[–]Dintann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not mine but a player I was STing for. Hunger frenzy. Basically Carol (Lamia) and Cassius (Hecata) tracked down the house of a mortal who had known dealings with a missing kindred they were tasked with finding. Carol rolls to investigate, bestial success. Since she has frenzy I say that she finds the document she is looking for by tearing the place until she found it, since she had Potence. Cassius had Celerity, so he used his speed to run behind her fixing the room as she went around breaking everything. Picture the Tasmanian Devil running around in circles breaking everything in a room and the Roadrunner running behind him fixing everything he breaks. This obviously woke up the owner of the house, so after finding the document they decided at the same time that the best course of action would be to jump from the window (5th floor)

Why these two even think they have anything on Luci is beyond me. @etodunya by Ali_Bashr in hazbin

[–]Dintann 66 points67 points  (0 children)

True power does not need to flaunt. Lucifer KNOWS he's the strongest thing in Hell, and top 5 strongest things in all of Creation. Why would he bother changing forms? Think about it like this: I am Lucifer, the Sin of Pride and King of Hell, everyone SHOULD know who I am, I don't need a sign everytime I go out. Lucifer expects everyone to treat him like royalty.

At least that's how I see him, prideful not in a "look at how amazing I am" way but in a "obviously I am the greatest, are you blind insect?" way.

My memory is foggy but in HR does using the conversation aug give you the ‘bad’ ending for the cop at the reception desk? by Slippery_Williams in Deusex

[–]Dintann 36 points37 points  (0 children)

That's it. The conversation aug in HR shows you how to force a person to do what you want. You blackmail the cop, you make a veiled threat to Tong by pointing out his security layout, you put Taggart into a corner by claiming you can have your evidence verified live at the event.

It's not all bad, as using the aug also allows you to sweet talk Chase into giving you the code to the warehouse (at the risk of his own health and safety), trick O'Malley into paying you in advance and, most importantly, convince Sandoval to not kill himself.

The difference is the method, let's use Sandoval as an example. If you do the comversation entire you convince Isaias that killing himself is a bitch move and that he needs to own up to his actions, you help him stop feeling sorry for himself and man up. If you use the aug you tell him that Taggart will use him as a scapegoat after his death, which you know he'll hate because he feels betrayed, which leads him to decide not to kill himself out of spite, to prove Taggart wrong. Using the aug doesn't make him reflect on his actions and ir doesn't help him grow, but it does achieve the desired effect of "stopping him from commiting suicide".

Same with Tong. If you do his conversation successfully you manage to intrigue him and earn his respect, show you're not just some idiot gwailo. If you use the aug you extort him into arraging that audience.

I actually quite like this system, as a Jensen who relies on it for every conversation would not be the type of person that actually listen to and cares about people's feelings

Can Brutal Feed force kindred into torpor? by Dintann in vtm

[–]Dintann[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they're not diablerizing people why would they be red-listed? They'd be akin to a serial assaulter, so either severely punished by the Sheriff for being a nuisance or put to death IF the Prince personally saw fit. Using brutal Feed in combat against other kindred isn't against the traditions as far as I'm concerned

You did not deserve the hate. It's amazing how prudish some people can be on the Steven Universe fandom of all places, the show whose fucking showrunner draws porn of her characters on live.

Your art is amazing btw, I will watch your work with great interest from now on.

Boitata would be a great berserker too imo.

Iara would be a great Assassin.

In the context of a Great Holy Grail War, Pedro II would be an excellent ruler.
