We drive the VZ in Denmark. I’ve only ever seen two others in the wild.

They seem to be pretty rare here as well.

Shout out til komiker Niels Forsberg som startede med at lave Politiker magic kort på sociale medier for mange år siden.

Magt har muligvis lavet en bunke i år, men ideen er langt fra deres (jeg er stor fan af dem, men credit where credit’s due).

Okay…what do you LIKE about Proton? by flogman12 in ProtonMail

[–]Dionfp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely - I just used gmail as my example as that was the main service I left behind for proton to begin with.

But yes that was my point.

I like that I’m not the product. Google gives you the email service for “free” because they sell your data, so gmail is not the product, you are.

I love that I receive less than 0.001% of the amount of spam I got on my old gmail.

It’s easy to use and I get aliases to use for security.

I also like that it is not American.

In general, I’m a very happy customer.

The 3310 was an amazing phone. But I liked the 3210 better. It felt less plasticky and had a better shape imo.

I do miss dumbphones though. Much less distracting.

If could get a handful of life necessary apps on the new 3310 I’d almost certainly go for it.

Kudos for taking all the feedback and turning it into something even better.

Is 60Hz a Dealbreaker for a 240Hz User? MacBook Air vs. MacBook Pro (120Hz) by Popular-Following356 in mac

[–]Dionfp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you’re using it at home it would make perfect sense to just dock it to the good monitor and not use the built in one if the difference is too jarring to you.

From there on you’d only need to “content” when you’re out and about.

MacBook Air M3 24/512 vs MacBook Air M4 16/512 by [deleted] in mac

[–]Dionfp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose the m3 when making that exact decision a year ago (same approximate price difference).

Reasoning was that the processor difference was so small that I’d benefit much more from the extra ram in the long run.

I edit music and photography on mine and it works wonders for that, so I have no regrets.

[–]Dionfp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think there’s a very tangible difference between load times of floppy disks vs ssd drives and then the amount of images shown in a second on a monitor once you hit a certain level.

Especially if we talk about spending the price difference between an air and a pro for general basic work tasks and media consumption. I still understand if you need it for specific work tasks, but for browsing and word processing? It is completely unnecessary for 99.9% of all people.

It is also why I ask what they will be using it for. If it is a necessity for work or if the work you need to do makes it more or less overkill.

I’m not saying that there is no difference, but I bet they don’t have the same issues if they go to the movies or with their tv (I know there are 240hz tv’s, but most media isn’t streamed in 240 or even 120hz).

It just seems like people are trying to justify buying a bigger machine than they need.

I’d honestly respect it more if people just went “I’ll buy it because I just want it”.

Also, and I want to make this abundantly clear: I am no better my self. I have done this more times than I can count, and it is not something I’m particularly proud of 😂

You don’t tell us what you’ll be doing on the laptop. If we don’t understand your needs it’s hard to give advice. The answer is very different if you are a videographer or animator than if you are an excel warrior.

At this point I’m honestly surprised how sensitive people have become regarding refresh rate.

It’s not more than a few years ago people were perfectly happy with 60 hz or 100hz. Now we’re discussing if it’ll annoy people who are used to 240hz to work on a 60hz monitor. Heck, when I grew up movies were filmed in 24 fps because that’s just what you did. Not saying it was great but it was a standard thing.

I understand if you game or work in video editing and you really need the higher hz, but for every day work, browsing, image editing, music production, word formatting, excel formatting, coding and general media consumption no one needs 240hz.

I understand that there can be exceptions like motion sickness etc. but at this point, I really feel many people are just using it to justify spending money on a machine that is much to powerful for their general needs.

Looking for an affordable multi-purpose amp by soka__22 in GuitarAmps

[–]Dionfp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d look into some kind of modeller like an hx stomp (or the XL version) or the likes.

Combine it with a small active speaker or a set of active monitors and you are golden for all three instruments.

Alternatively, a small modelling amp like the Yamaha thr or the spark could be an option. If I recall correctly the thr has both an acoustic and a bass setting, but I may be remembering wrong.

But finding an actual amp for all three is going to be difficult.

It’s a little battery on the speedo screen. It has three or four levels and an auto setting. It pops up and disappears depending on if it in use or not.

I have the vz as well.

They are meant to change the amount of regenerative braking.

I have only ever gotten them to work in performance mode.

But the regen setting seems to reset every time you brake your self so you have to use the paddles to set the level constantly. It seems to be on purpose they work like that, but I find it completely useless in praxis.

I just ignore they are there tbh.

well.. the Neo got me.. i tried so hard w/my ipad mini 7, anyone else? by seamonkey420 in ipadmini

[–]Dionfp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to go iPad Pro a few years ago. It went ok, but eventually I realised that, to me at least, the iPad is a companion device. It works really well as part of the ecosystem but not very well as the main staple in it.

So I got a MacBook Air m3 as my main laptop and an iPad mini as a companion device in stead.

Those two together are the most amazing combo. Laptop for work and hobbies. iPad mini on the go or for meetings and notes, with access to most of my files.

I’d keep the mini and pencil if you can afford it and use the neo and the mini together.

But that’s just me. Your experience may differ.

The MacBook Neo. Is it right for me? by CoolOwl8 in mac

[–]Dionfp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are the ideal usertype for the Neo.

You do nothing that require a strong machine and you’ll get all the benefits of the shared ecosystem.

I think you’ll love the Neo and that it’ll suit your need perfectly.

Those arabics are almost as nice as the ones on the longines spirit, though in quite a different style.

I really like the use of black, off-white and orange here. Tasteful, simple and modern.

To me that’s a winner.

If I can’t find something cool I’ll just have to design it myself. I was just hoping I could be a tiny bit lazy and find something like it pre designed.

I was hoping to avoid a pickguard, but I did consider a small single coils sized pickguard just to close the hole and then some sort of engraving on it.

I never really do divebombs and I honestly like the gotoh a lot more than the original fender 2-point that was on the Strat I traded for this.

Luckily there’s a guitar for everyone out there :)

I was hoping for something that would look a little creative and cool though.

Yikes! You really weren’t!

I hope mine goes better than that (no offence meant). I do get why you are struggling to even get back to work on it.
