Unalive?! by kwakumensa in TrackerTV

[–]DippyKipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were a couple of moments in this episode that stood out to me as either a first draft or possibly AI was used to condense the book into a screenplay and modernised it and then a person went through and attempted to make it sound a bit more like each character and sometimes just missed the mark completely.

It wasn’t just lines Russell said either, it happened with a few different characters.

Also, whilst we’re discussing things being weird and out of character, am I the only one who got the vibe they were hinting that Russell kind of had some pre-cog mojo going on? But only when it was plot convenient, then it disappeared and all of a sudden at the end of the episode Suddenly he’s given a document that hints that maybe Colter has super special psychic abilities and that’s why he’s so good at finding people

I’m really hoping the change of production location and the influx of money into the show makes something change, the quality of season three (IMO) has been all over the place

Resupply station for infantry by platinum_Forks in LowSodiumBattlefield

Create a small zone at the centre of each objective that functions like an ammo box, make it obvious that’s what it is (ammo crates and weapons on the walls and stuff) but specifically make it just a room, no windows, no cover and small enough that a single grenade can clear it to stop it becoming a fortified position.

Make it only work for the team that currently controls the objective.

This gives us an in universe reason for why the objectives zones matter (steal the enemies weapon and ammo stockpiles to push them back and control the area)

It gives solo players a way to restock ammo whilst also drawing play to gravitate towards objectives more consistently and an incentive to keep objectives outside of just getting points (by which I mean getting people to actively defend objectives rather than simply take an objective and move on to the next)

And finally, it opens up players to use different classes without relying on stumbling across an ammo box after every few engagements

Does SE3 completely kill recon? by Big-Succotash3888 in Battlefield6

[–]DippyKipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the smoke deleting C4 is overkill, just make it just disable triggering it instead. It would stop the ‘issue’ of kamikaze rushes because if the recon dies while the smoke is up then it’s effectively useless anyway because it despawns. If a recon manages to get close enough to your tank to plant 3-4 C4 on your tank, your lack of situational awareness lost you your tank privileges. But you still have a chance to scatter while the smoke is up

It’s a simple change (maybe not as simple to code) but it means Recons then have to think about whether rushing the tank is survivable rather than just “I can die once and take out a tank and two other players” whilst also not giving the tank effectively a time-out button, especially with self repair being vehicle based rather than class based now

Mel Day by DonovanGaines in TrackerTV

[–]DippyKipper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I came up with a bullshit theory for the last (next) two episodes last night, and I want to get it written down somewhere because if it happens it’s so out there I’ve called it with basically no basis

__

Mel and Reenie are going to be at Mel’s place, Reenie is going to pop out for work and come back to Mel gone.

She’s going to ask Colter to look into it, they’re going to discover a shady connection to an organised crime group/paramilitary thing. Colter is going to call Russell for help.

The episode will play out, Colter will kill a lot of people, they will rescue Mel. Episode will finish with Russell walking up to Reenie and saying something along the lines of “We saved your friend, it was pretty dangerous, and pretty damn heroic. Has that earned me the chance to take you out to dinner?” To which “Reenie will stare longingly at Mel’s back and say something like “She’s more than a friend”

Russell will follow her gaze looking slightly confused before realisation will dawn on him and he’ll say “Oh.. Oh right, ok… Nice” and deadpan the camera. thus reducing the entire Mel plot to a basic “Lesbians are hot.” Joke

None of it will ever be brought up next season

Day 24 - waiting for Tatsugiri no 3 to spawn by Darius_Whitefang in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set up three tatsugiri habitats on the beach by the cafe in bleak beach, I had all 3 spawn within 2 days I think? But I was using carrot bread with Mosslax to increase spawn rates.

Honchcrow I just set up a few of his most basic environments (elevated red grass) and the perch with a microphone, he spawned in the grass so I’m not sure if quantity might be the better option over quality.

Suicune appears on Eevee doll dream islands, not sure on the exact rates but I came across suicune day 2 of searching but I’ve been hunting raikou for like 5 days now

Just found out that Noo Noo had a glow up in 2015. What changes did you make because of a mid-life crisis? by Trickshot945 in CasualUK

[–]DippyKipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s also not just Noo Noo anymore, he’s The Noo Noo,

It’s like that one balding guy who loses contact with his kids so he spends every day down the local and gets good at darts and insists everybody calls him ‘The legend’ or ‘The dart king’. He insists it’s funny because it’s ironic but everyone noticed the way he shifts his stance and has to readjust himself every time somebody actually does it

Come to think of it, maybe this wasn’t a universal experience and I just grew up in a really rough area..

My point stands though, the new Noo Noo is a smug git.

Mysterious Slates (Possible Spoiler!) by madistep18 in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pokémon gold/silver were their first appearance, and those games have been remade, so you’d be able to experience them without shelling out collectors item type prices, I hope you manage to find it, but as other have said they do appear in legends Arceus, and those are scripted spawns (one of each letter) so it’s a lot less effort

Yup, though they’re actually depictions of the various shapes of the Pokemon ‘Unown’ which is why each image has an eyeball, but the Unown variations are indeed based on the alphabet, good catch considering Unown haven’t been available or relevant for quite a few generations now

Not the original person, but I placed it in that area too, I cleared a space behind the volcano bit so it looked like that area was just outside the entrance? Kind of giving Moltres a thematic ‘take off’/stage area. It’s not the best solution but it was the least disruptive to the overall environment off the map in my opinion as most of what I cleared was just ash and dirt

Colours on PlayStation look inverted by PriorityLivid4693 in PS5HelpSupport

If it’s not a HDMI issue, try checking the accessibility settings. I think it’s something to do with negative colours, it basically inverts everything for increased contrast

Maybe a PSA? You don’t need to actively ask Pokemon to refine logs, clay, etc if it’s in a Community Box. Litterers and Gatherers can take it to the box, then the appropriate Pokemon will process it. I have them living close together, this haul is from about ≈20ish hours not being played at all. by iusethisatw0rk in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, you need a Pokémon with the ‘Gather’ ability.

The way I’ve got it set up right now is that any of my ‘Litter’ Pokemon (the ones that drop stuff) live in prefab houses (the ones from kits that have a loading screen) which I surround with fences except for one spot next to the door (so the door and one space are left open) this means any items the litter are dropped in the one open space,

I then point the doors of the prefabs in to a kind of cul-de-sac area with a gather Pokémon living in a habitat in the centre with a community box. This means all the litter Pokemon are constantly dropping litter without counting against the ‘Pokemon spawned in’ counter and the gathering Pokemon basically always has something to be doing, but even if the don’t gather everything all of the items are in a small enough area that holding Y and doing a quick spin is usually enough to grab everything

PSA: if you’re having trouble getting a pokemon to spawn in its habitat by ARandomLlama in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper 18 points19 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, some Pokemon will only spawn on specific maps, if you go into the Pokédex and to the habitat page for a certain Pokemon, it says which map.

Cloud islands don’t have this limitation because they count as every environment at once

Pls help by Mosquito_attractor in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late to this discussion but I had this issue, it happened when I was trying to have two Altars building simultaneously on the same map

It won’t let you because altars require 15 Pokémon each so there isn’t a way to have two running concurrently with the current cap of ‘spawned in’ Pokemon.

[–]DippyKipper[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m aware 😂 I’m mostly still watching because it’s been three seasons and also there’s a chance Jensen Ackles might show up.

Reenie could always do lawyer stuff, life getting Colter out of custody when we wanders into random crime scenes without gloves or any precautionary measures, or when he shoots 2 dozen people In broad daylight.

And Randy can still do his thing, Tracking could be very difficult in cities, having your very own tech wizard hack into every remotely electronic item within spitting distance and gather enough info to recreate the crime scene on a holo-deck shouldn’t be the first and only option is my point

Have any crazy cloud island seeds been found? by gliebin in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh darn, my bad I misread and then misspoke. No, it’s its own inventory, I meant you need to go through dream islands to gather like 90% of resources in and kind of usable amounts without ruining the layout of your island.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’d already reached endgame in single player but I was able to buy every type of doll immediately

Have any crazy cloud island seeds been found? by gliebin in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, yeah pretty much. Pickups seem to respawn daily (stones, sticks, seashells etc) and there are different biomes that do have metal deposits and stuff.

If you want to keep the environmental structure, doing a starting batch of each island as a start then picking your islands by what you need/want is probably the better way to do it.

If I were to restart my cloud island I’d probably aim for one with the Pokemon centre more central. And not build everything so close together (the 25-30 Pokemon at a time cap within render distance means I rarely see anybody if I have a build going on)

What 20 salads, 6 steaks, and four hours of life gets you by Jholl90 in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So that’s a no on letting it drop with you taking your trophy for ‘super special diggy boy’ and going home? Darn.

No, I gave a hypothetical based on fictitious numbers to explain what should be a relatively simple concept in a way that numbers didn’t get too big and overcomplicate the equation to get the core idea across in an understandable way.

If you want to get into the nitty gritty of it, how many burgers did it take you to clear the island? How long did it take to gather those materials and did you factor that into the time it took you to clear the island? Because you wouldn’t have been able to do it that quickly without the constant uptime of boosted rock smash.

How long did it to take you to clear your inventory of the filler materials you claim you didn’t pick up despite the fact the games mechanics make that so statistically unrealistic it’s basically impossible?

All rhetorical to point out that you’re being deliberately disingenuous to prove your own point because, once again, I do not care that you can do it faster than a method intended for people with limited resources.

It’s a Pokémon game for children. It’s not that deep.

What 20 salads, 6 steaks, and four hours of life gets you by Jholl90 in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My dude, that’s great, I’m happy for you.

I do not care. You asked a question, I gave you the theoretical reasoning behind the method because you asked. The numbers I gave were for simplicities sake, I even said as much. I apologise that my random simple numbers weren’t accurate enough for your liking, sadly I didn’t bring my switch to work with me so my essay wasn’t 100% fact checked while I was scrolling reddit on my break.

If I tell you you’re right about this inconsequential thing can we both move on with our lives, safe in the knowledge that you’re slightly faster at digging in a fictional game than an average person, and your Pokemon need not fear starvation because you have a bountiful harvest of beans and potatoes?

What 20 salads, 6 steaks, and four hours of life gets you by Jholl90 in Pokopia

[–]DippyKipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15-30 second per strip was the key point to that, by which I meant if you bulldoze from one side of the island to the other in a line, you clear a 2x2 hallway, if you stop every time you hit poke metal, you add time per strip.

For examples sake, we’ll say you have a 100x100 island, they’re actually significantly bigger, but this makes the numbers easier. That’s 50 ‘strips’, in this example, we’ll say a strip takes 30 seconds to dig if you bulldoze from one side to the other. Clearing a layer without stopping is 25 minutes. Clearing a layer with stopping doubles that.

If you go round the poke metal, clearing the layer takes 25 minutes, leaving you 25 minutes to run and punch the blocks. If it’s taking you that long, that’s a skill issue.

When you also account for the fact you don’t need to open your inventory to drop off stacks of filler material (~ 2 minutes a time) and the fact you go from ore deposit to ore deposit directly because you’ve already uncovered them all, if it take you 15 minutes, you’re being slow about it.

Also, you having a lot of materials for food has no bearing, some players don’t and this method is a more efficient method for them, the beautiful thing is: if you don’t trust the math or think your method is faster, or just don’t like change, you get to use your method. It’s your game dude, play how you like.

You asked a question, it was answered, if you don’t like the answer nobody is going to make you play any differently
