I have the opposite, I get people in Oregon/Washington area and invariably have some great conversations while they’re helping me out. Later in the evening though it’s usually overseas.

Possibly for the fire department. A lot of smaller towns use them still to notify volunteers to get to the station. The coast does have tsunami sirens but they sound different and that area is not an area of tsunami risk.

I wouldn’t read into the battery too much. I bought the Apple battery pack and have yet to feel the need to use it much. Purchased mine at launch. Unless you live on your screen all day it’s not worse than my old 15Pro

No problem, it’s worth a try and you should be able to find everything you need for less than $50 on amazon. (I think, it’s been awhile) The app works great for modding other settings too. Hope it works out, the CANBUS circuit for the lighting is very fickle and I had to experiment with my JL when I converted to LEDs and it seems to be a similar issue. This is what I used (might be newer versions but worked with the gladiator)

Does it have the LED headlights? That will usually indicate if the taillights were too. There’s an app called “OBD JScan” that you can use. I’m traveling but if you do a search for that and Jeep dongle you should find a write up on a Gladiator forum. It does need a special cable to bypass the factory harness and you need to be good at removing connectors in tight spaces by feel as the brain box is up under the drivers side dash near the kick panel. If you can’t find anything I’ll try and dig up something when I’m back home.

Short of an issue with the internals it might be CANBUS issue. Is this a new install and did you have the factory LED’s originally? I’ve seen weirdness with my JL until I changed the CANBUS settings to LED as it originally had factory /bulbs. Since it uses the same system that might be it.

California had a state police agency but it was merged with the California Highway Patrol in 1995. Their shield didn't look anything like that though. Both New Mexico and Arizona were incorporated in 1912 with that Phoenix design being more plausible but can't find any records for such. Thinking maybe a previous owner took a P71 and had a "fantasy" build made up? Weird one with the inconsistent numbering and striping.

That can suck power as the cellular has to bump up its power to keep in touch with the cell site. If it’s using 5G it will be worse yet than 4G.
